3G Windshield Replacement - OEM vs Aftermarket

So my windshield is cracked badly and needs to be replaced.
Is there any reason to get OEM over aftermarket?
Of course OEM will cost more I just don't want a thin layer aftermarket that will break easily.

Also I am unsure if the 3G TL (Type-S if it makes a difference in my scenario) that has any special features that I would need to get the OEM like heated windshield, rain sensing wipers, etc.

There's OEM glass from the dealership which will run you $1k+, then there's OEM distributor glass which most people get which runs around $250-400, and then there is cheaper aftermarket glass. Don't get the aftermarket glass.

I've heard rumors that OEM windshields are made of thicker glass and as such, should withstand rock chips a bit better, but by the end of the day, it's still just glass. And it will still chip. And it will still crack.

There's really no benefit to paying for the OEM windshield. As MVP stated, I'd go for the OEM Distributor glass.

Oops I realized I posted this in the wrong sub section of TL, looks like I cannot delete it.
Sorry!

Thanks for the link. I just don't want to get easily crackable glass right.
