2014 TL smoking after ring/piston replacement.
This is the smoke that I have coming out of my 2014 Acura TL sh-awd.
I had the oil consumption issue and was able to get the work done in the last month of the extended warranty. That was great! However I have one of the worst Acura dealers of all time. Pretty much 100% turnover of employees every year.
long story short, I have no faith in these guys and also, I have no choice but to use them.
I received new rings, pistons, gaskets, spark plugs, timing belt and the Mech broke an oil injector so that was also replaced.
what are your thoughts on what could cause this smoke? I never had any issues before the work other than the oil consumption. It never once came out the exhaust on startup.
thanks guys/gals

I have been driving it for about three weeks before I noticed with a wind pushing the smoke passed my window. Then I talked to family and my wife’s dad told me he saw smoke the weekend after it got fixed.
its my wife’s daily driver so she doesn’t notice stuff like smoke coming from the car. Lol

I would bring it back and get it done right. The dealer got paid for the warranty work, not they need to do the job correctly. If need be talk to Acura Customer Service. Maybe try a different dealer?? Not sure how it works internally for Acura if one dealer has to fix / redo work done by another dealer...............

It’s there right now. Been there for 3 days and they are waiting for Acura to tell them what to do.
it’s so frustrating having a mechanic that has no idea what’s wrong with the work they performed. It’s like they are hoping Acura will pay to fix their mess up.

it’s definitely oil burning, I bet they didn’t gap the piston Rings right
