2012 TL Jerking when going to R or D

Hello all,

I been doing a lot of research online and looking through multiple forums to figure one what the issue is with my car. I have a 2012 TL AWD with 40K miles. Transmission shifts great and very responsive while driving, but when I shift from park to reverse or drive, there is a slight jerk. Yes, there are lot of answers to this issue such as motor/transmission mounts etc, but what's throwing me off is if I push the break harder, the car does not jerk at all. The transmission has been flushed and the software update was also done at the dealer. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I have a 2012 FWD model and I've always had this feeling as well. From what I can tell it's normal.

same with my 2010 - Similar symptoms, if the brake is pressed hard enough, no jerk, if not, a jerk + shifting noise. I had the same thing on my previous Accord. Seems to occur with age IME, but my Accord is still going strong w/ 285k+ miles. I woulnd't worry about it unless you are really bothered by it.

interesting.
i wonder if it could be a motor/tranny mount

the "older it gets" comment and the "harder I press the brakes" lead me to believe it could be a mount problem

the rubber mounts get tired after a while

pull e brake, pop hood and have someone shift so you can see the engine moving

then replace the mounts

My car only has 40k miles and if you apply a lot of brake pressure you hardly notice this issue, if you don't it does exactly what this guy is saying. I just think it's because it's a big heavy car.

Have you changed your trans filter yet? It gets clogged.

Not yet, it's on my list since it's making the "gurgling" sound on cold starts.
