2010 tl-shawd charging system issue

A few days ago the warning started flashing saying "check charging system" with a battery icon flashing but I did a little research on the forums and just figured id save up some money for the pulleys on the alternator because sometimes they get loose, but yesterday I drove it about a mile to a different destination but when I went to turn the car back on it wouldn't start, so I assumed jump starting would fix the issue and it did for about 1 min after I unplugged the jump cables and the engine started bogging as if it was about to just turn off, which finally ended up being the case and I havnt been able to jump start it or get it on at all since. Does anyone think they know what the problem can be? im thinking starter or alternator but Im not sure where to start.

I vote alternator. Mine went out last July (111,000 miles). I suspect they are slightly under-powered for our SH-AWD with electric clutches.
