Exclamation 2009 Acura TL intermittent stiff brake / no start! HELP!

This problem started about a month ago. Randomly when I depress the brake to start the car, the pedal is very stiff and the car will not start. My car battery is good and I have replaced both fob batteries. When the problem first started, I tried using my spare fob. Problem went away for about a week...thought problem was solved when it happened again today with spare fob. One time, the car started but I was unable to shift out of park. I turned car off and tried to restart and got the stiff brake / no start again! Anyone out there that can help?

Guessing, there should be some type of switch on the brake pedal bracket. It might be, bent or misaligned. Get under the dash and check and I bet you will find your problem. The plug to the switch can even be loose.

Thanks dewest1023! Brought the car to my mechanic and he replaced the brake sensor switch. So far so good! Keeping my fingers crossed as I have a road trip next weekend

Glad the was the issue. I seen this problem many times on other cars, but yours is the first on an Acura.

Autozone has them for $!0 and it takes only a few minutes to replace. It is connected to the top of the brake pedal assembly.
