'09 TL SH-AWD leak

Yes, oil consumption has been increasing, but my mechanic noticed oil build up near oil filter housing, that leaks onto the axle. He thinks it may need a new filter housing gasket.
Has anyone had this occur to their 3.7?

it's common on honda/acura v6 engines, it's a $10-20 dollar gasket that needs to be replaced:
