Wintertime Photoshoot

So today my car was very, very dirty. It has 1000 miles of road salt and grime from my recent drive back from MI to MA (I washed it when I was out there). It was almost completely covered with salt. Since we finally got a day where it was over 30 degrees, I figured it would be a good day to give it a wash, and and reseal since the previous stuff mostly wore away in the round trip drive to MI.

I started with a quick trip to the self service car wash to get the big stuff off and cleaned the wheels with some P21S wheel cleaner (great stuff). Drove it home and did a hand wash with some Optimum No Rinse. Vacuumed, cleaned & conditioned the leather with Lexol (Merry Christmas to me). Applied some Blackfire sealant, and buffed off. I was very impressed with the results. Only took me 3.5 hours

Enjoy!

We'll start with my favorite

Here were some of the products I used in this process.

Which are just a portion of products from my "Detailing Station"
When you start the detailing obsession, it's easy to get carried away. Needless to say, I like a clean car, especially Black since when it's clean, it's drop dead gorgeous.

Looks amazing... unfortunately, as soon as you drive it, the dirty water, melted snow and salt are gonna kick up all over the car again

Cant wait until Spring time

Looking good & nice work!

I agree that black is hard to beat when clean. I like the look of the spoilers and side skirts. I've been thinking of adding them to mine. These are the first good pics I've seen showing them on the same color I have.

That is beautiful! Fellow Bostonian here...Don't you hate that its snowing again? Come on Spring time! Is that a late model Civic I see in the background? Looks like my garage...my girlfriend as an 08 Civic.

Thanks guys, Yea, looks like that was the one and only clear, sudo warm day we're gonna get. 3-5 more inches of that white crap came today... Actually had my wife drive around for errands today so I wouldn't get it dirty, want a couple more days of it being clean.

Hiro, yup that is a 08 Civic in the garage, my wife traded in her 2002 Saab for it last year. She loves it, and I love the fact that she's going to keep it for a long time, since Civic's are pretty much bulletproof.

Looks nice.

you are absolutely right about the detailing obsession, after getting my new TL, I have been obsessed with trying to start my own "detailing station", been on the DI site all weekend picking out my collection of goods.

Haha, yea, it's a sickness, especially with CBP, looks sooo good clean.

I think I picked the one good day to do it on the 1st of the year. The next day we got like 4 inches of snow, and yesterday another 6 or 8 inches... But yea, if it gets up to like mid 30's and sunny, it's a good time for a two bucket wash with some no-rinse product, even if you'll only enjoy it for a few days...
