Ebony interior with the white car aren't available on 2011 SH-AWD Tech models.. they are available on the base and SH-AWD without Tech cars as per Acura's US website... The 2012's in white are available with either ebony, taupe or parchment interiors depending on the model. The '12 6MT Tech white is only available with an ebony interior... not a bad combo in my opinion...

I planning on test driving a 2012 this week. I would go black with umber advance, just like my MDX.

Nice to see you love it.

I went through Photobucket and resized all the pics to 640 x 480 but they haven't reset on here, for some reason. Thye used to auto size for web pages in the past

What a great buying experience... Sterling McCall Acura of Houston are great folks. I go to meet the factory rep as well. WOW!
Looks good Stew. I'm still not a fan of the 2012 but yours is impressive. Glad to see you did the body side molding and underbody all around. Did my pics to you help in that decision? I would have painted the rear trunk piece white so that it doesn't stand out. Did you clear film any of the area prone for rock dings?

Thanks! No, I didn't get the clear film yet. I am going to get it tinted ASAP though

I took my car on a long trip and got a nice big star in my windshield though!! 1,000 miles on it and already cracked the windshield.. I was sooo pissed when I heard that BAP and saw the star!

No offence - but thats the ugliest rear skirt I ever seen, it just looks like pieces stuck on top of the car - I think they made it flow much better on the 09-11

I know the feeling. In our first week got a rock right on the edge of the windshield of our new ZDX couldn't be repaired as windshield would probably crack due to location. 2 months later it cracked and had to get a new windshield installed.

damn man ... cracked glass esp on a new cars suxxx, if they will not be able to repair it, i would suggest going with pgw glass. its what i replaced my oem windshield on my TL with, and i would say its equal if not better quality glass IMO. and it has the acoustic layer and all so the cabin is just as quiet.

dont go with so no name after market brand, as those windshields are pretty crappy

I know and no offense taken.. I have been hearing about how ugly it is since I got it but there is nothing I can do about it now. This design is what Acura came up with. I hope they re-visit the design and change things. Acura is aware of how badly the part has been received.

Luckily, it doesn't look quite so bad from a distance.. at least not to me.. I guess i have to learn to like it

Your car looks great in profile and head shot though! Who knows, maybe Acura comes up with a new rear piece.

Stew4hd can you take a pic of the rear in full sunlight.
The way its shown in the shade hides the flow of the rear kit.
I think it looks good just needs more light to see it.
To make it look like a full rear body kit bumper you can try to put white vinyl over the black rear bumper between the the 2 exhaust tips.
Then if you like it, remove the vinyl and have the black rear bottom bumper painted BWP.

This is the first time I've seen any pics of the '12 lips, and I have to agree with the comment about the rear. Looks like an afterthought to me.

I figured that they had to drill a hole in the bumper to fit the piece to, like I had to do in the '08.

I am taking the car into the dealer on Friday for tinting and windshield repair. They are supposed to have a rep from Acura there to see the car too. According the the service manager, they have been watching these threads about the negative comments regarding the rear piece... and I keep letting them know too.

That's good. Then I'll chime in once more. I didn't want to knock your car after saying it was good looking before seeing the back pics, but yeah, the rear kit does need to change. It just looks like an afterthought that was bolted onto the sides or something. That being said, the rest of the car is still DAMN nice. Don't worry... your car 95% perfect.

Take pics after tinting and post them, too. It should look nice.

You've got to be kidding me!!!! Acura Service hates Acurazine because they tend to lose money due the the DIYers. They are not going to change the rear piece because they would have to retool everything to do it. Maybe the the next Gen. BTW, why would you go the the dealer to have your windows tinted? Are you paying the installer directly? If not, you are going to pay a pass-through to Acura.

One could make the argument that some of Acuras most loyal and enthusiastic customers are found on here though.

They may not like this site but they do look. I know they aren't going to change the ugly back piece but they need to be aware of how bad it looks.

As for the tinting, the dealership's pricing is actually cheaper than the place I normally get it done at. Under $200 for the tint.

Not a bad price for tinting. I hope they do a good job.

I have my tint appointment tomorrow morning. I am dying for them.

I really want to do the aero kit but that rear is just too hard to handle. I don't know what crack the designer was on when he thought it would look good being incomplete.

Very nice! In your pics, you can see that Bellanova White Pearl apears "whiter" than White Diamond Pearl.

Stew-VERY nice! I like this Aero Kit MUCH better than the other 4G Aspec Kit! I like the double edge on the lower sides.
