As for the painted fogs and turn signals. Is there any output since I said "no" turn signals or fogs. Can't be legit. On a side note, it doesn't look too bad... Should post a bigger picture in your post for everyone to see. Yes it's ghetto but it's your car. Why not just tint them darker? Why the paint?

Yeah, if you wanted them dark you should've used tint or nite shade so there would still be some light output. Or if you were really intent on using something in a can plastidip would've been better since it's at least reversible.

I read somewhere else on AZ about someone in Canada getting pulled over and their car being impounded for being too low...can't help but think Johhny Law isn't going to be a fan of your lack of front signals.

Maybe redo and use tint film. Can try plasti dip but not sure if the paint will melt.

Canadian laws aren't so bad. I've never got a ticket on my TSX and I was laying frame often, also had flush/poke wheels. I got pulled over once for having the tinted plate covers. Told the officer I didn't want to ruin the plates, he said just to remove the rears and he doesn't really care about the fronts.

My TL right now has 20% tint all around. No issues. I think they're a lot more lenient compared to maybe Quebec. I've gotten more tickets in the US than in Canada...

blinkers were created for a purpose.. it is to aid and warn other drivers so they wont hit your car or come into your lane... you completely made them useless now.

Seriously though, get some paint thinner, remove the paint and tint it.

Yes, but I think it sorta looks good. The 4G front is too busy with lights, this helps remedy that. You guys commenting he should have it tinted instead, is it for the sake of having it done properly, so that it I'll be reversible or so that some light shines through? For those of you suggesting he do so because you believe it would look better, how can you tell? The picture is tiny and it just looks black.

Goodlife it's very low class of you to make comments like those to Justin, if you have more then he does, then there's nothing to prove, right? Also regardless of this being Justin's situation or not believing that you're somehow better off because the vehicle you advertise as your own is more expensive then someone else's is foolish. Normal (not celebrities) people who have money are usually inconspicuous.

That's subjective...nobody is going to win or lose that argument. Having said that, you're probably wrong.

I don't presume to speak for others, but there are plenty of reasons, and they all come down to liability.

Have you ever been in one of those situations where you start to shift into the right lane at exactly the same time that the guy two lanes over is shifting left? There's always the question...who's at fault? Goodlife has ensured that he will always lose that fight.

Also, he claims to have gotten his share of tickets. This only means he's been lucky. Having tinted lights might attract a ticket (cops here are notoriously lenient [read: lazy]), but painting over them altogether means that the vehicle is now lacking required safety equipment. As such, the vehicle could be impounded immediately.

Finally, he should not be entitled to make a decision which could affect (or end) another person's life, all for the sake of vanity. But that's exactly what he's done.

Please be careful who you're painting with that brush.

Are you overlooking the fact that he still has mirror turn signals? I'm not saying it's a good idea nor would I do it or recommend it but those are not his only front facing turn signals. Also when you make blanket statements like he'll lose such and such if there's an accident you're assuming the officers responding are going to notice the modification and then ticket him for it. I deal with patients that have been in motor vehicle accidents on a daily basis. I've read hundreds of mv104's. Some things that I've noticed are:
1) police officers usually write sloppy reports and rarely witness accidents.
2) at least in the tri state area officer are very lenient about ticketing people who cause accidents by disregarding traffic control devices or speed limits because they weren't there to witness the offense. On the rare occasion they do witness the accident they still dont ticket.
3) after an accident those involved aren't even aware of all their injury sites, at best they mention just the most severe ones, if any. Do you think they'll be aware enough to say "hey officer, he spray painted his turn signals". Or will they more than likely assume the vehicle doesn't have front turn signals?

I don't know why you took the last comment personally, it was directed at the OP because of personal attacks he made to another member. It wasn't even phrased in an offensive manner. If you feel it was directed towards you then maybe it applies to you as well?

 

I've not overlooked the mirror signals, however the Equipment Regulation under the Traffic Safety Act would overlook them. They're extra. Nice extras; but extras nonetheless.

As for accident reports, I've read my share too. In the example I used in my earlier post, in most cases, both parties would say that the other party failed to signal. It's easy to pick a side when one car has paint. There are tests that can be done that determine if headlamps and tail lamps were operational at the time of a collision. Those tests are unreliable when it comes to flashers. In OP's case, they're also unnecessary.

Trials, whether to contest a ticket, or to defend or prosecute a civil claim, are all about evidence. Paint over your flashers, and you're giving the other side some great evidence. That just doesn't make sense to me.

I've been a lawyer in the Province of Alberta for roughly 16 years. Also, I'm stubborn and, if my wife is to be believed, somewhat full of myself. So I won't argue the law or the practical effects of OP's decision, since I know I won't be convinced otherwise, and I wouldn't want to waste anyone's time.

As for the last comment, I recognized that you were referring to OP, though I wanted to playfully point out that we don't all think the same. I recognize that may not have been apparent in my post, however I'm not certain the passive aggression was warranted. Let's chalk it up to a misunderstanding.
