Railtester904's 2011 Palladium SH-AWD Build

Bought this car new in early 2011. Spent some time during winters in NY but also was garage kept. Only has 57,000 miles for its age. Was my wifes car for some time Does need some dings and dents pulled out its generally in good shape.

Its been completly stock since purchase but now its time to step it up a notch or two. My goal is to make this a reliable street car. Goal is around 300 whp naturaly aspirated. Not going to do any crazy drop or 20" wheels.

Going to start with a Jpipe and ATLP V2 resonated exhaust that are both sitting in my garage. Followed with some HFPC (currently on order) and a Ktuner with an eventual Dyno Tune.

Once that is done I am going to coil over to drop about an inch then add light weight 18" wheels. I know most will smoke me for that but the goal is light weight and lowering rolling inertia.

Currnelty I have Llumar CTX 30 tint on the sides and 50 on the windsheild.

Windshield will have to be redone since it got struck by a rock and cracked.

I don't think most will flame you for that...solid plan
Although, if you wanted a reliable daily car...it's fine as is.

Sounds like a good plan. However, I doubt that the current available bolt on mods will give you 300 WHP.

I know, I'm just fucking with you...tone can't be read in writing (my mother keeps telling me).
I had a 300HP 3G another member made...had some big issues with it...I mean, it was fun to drive but really...the number wasn't very useful other than bragging rights.
I ended up buying a car with a lot of power from factory instead. Love what you got for what it is is my new approach.

Lol. I read your thread on the 3G. Love the Vagon beast that you have. Now, that could very well be a factory freak .

LOL...indeed, man...indeed. Thanks for that, KK.

I am happy with my decision...not all of them in my life currently...but overall, I'm happy.
Sorry to derail. Keep that 4G clean and I do hope you get to whatever goals you set.

Agree with what the two posters above have said and if you're serious about hitting that number, you should cancel the order for HFPC and get PCD instead.

According to Richie there's a 10% difference in gains. He told me this via phone conversation when I was debating between HFPC or PCD when he was developing them for our platform. If you're serious about reaching your goal, that's an obvious choice.

Theoretically, a 10% differance in gains is 15hp gain vs a 16.5hp gain. not really much of a differance at all.

I am sticking to the HFPC.

I agree and I would stick to HFPC also since you are going full exhaust. It is more expensive but you won't have to deal with the extra rasp, smell and emissions. Pros outweigh the cons in this one.

I installed the XLR8 V2 Jpipe and an ATLP Resonated exhast this weekend. Went to a local place where you do the work but can rent out a lift and all the tools you could ever need. It only took 2 hours, with 30 minutes of that lining up the tips on the passenger side muffler. The sound is excellent. Noticable but at cruising speeds the AC and radio at volume 6 is louder. Frankly, IMO this is the way the car should have sounded from the factory.

I also tried to flash the ECU with a pretunned KTuner map but my comptuer took a shit. I took me 4 hours today to reflash it to stock because my computer kept crashing. Maybe time to purchase a small labtop just for this.

Anyway, mid to high RPM power has deffinatly increased. I hope to record and in-cabin sound clip by weekends end.

Time to show off all the custom appearance mods that have happened since taking delivery in 2011. Try to not be jealous ya'll.

Wow I feel like our cars could be related. 2011 TL SH-AWD, had 56.6k miles when I bought it 2 months ago and has the same peeling on the grill right on the same spot.

These cars have two Pre Cats. PCD and HFPC are performance parts that replace the stock pre cats. PCD stands for pre cat deletes(straight pipe) and HFPC stands for high flow pre cats.

According to this thread, the OP had a 6mt SH-AWD, it dyno’d at 227hp at the wheels. After doing full bolt ons, including:
-CT Engineering CAI Icebox
-Maxbore Throttle Body (TB) with machined shaft & screws
-PnP Intake Manifold (IM)
-P2R PnP Runners
-P2R IM & TB gaskets
-RV-6 HFPC’s (ceramic coated)
-XLR8 J Pipe V2 (3rd cat delete) & Catback (both ceramic coated up to the muffler tips)
-Skunk 2 Radiator cap
-Coolant line delete off of TB

he saw an increase to 242hp. That was without a tune though. Tuned, would could we expect, maybe 20hp?
