Quick snapshot of WDP on the road
I was driving down the road and a white car caught my eyes. As I approached closer it was 4G TL in wdp. With sharp edgy design and use of excessive chromes, it sure does catch attention on the road.
Here's quick snapshot using my cameraphone.

The paint is off because of the different textures of panels, and it's most notable on white. I like the matching mud flaps in white, I'd add the door trim to break up the rather large doors, it adds a certain sleekness in my opinion, especially on my black pearl. Those stock rims are very unflattering, as are mine. I'm still looking for some new 19's, hola if you hear me?

Sounds like a question for Acura/Honda. Send it to them? That grill on the TSX is uglier than the TL in my opinion. It looks dated. Too many vent slots, it's too busy.

Someone's going to come up with a good aftermarket metal bumperguard, and we're all going to pay $300+ for it.

This car has such an amazing presence on the road. It doesn't drive like a big car, with a solid feel on the road (despite the 19" wheels) and looks much more compact in person. My wife doesn't like how the center console area don't feel as luxurious. She does think that the grill makes the car looks handsome. I don't like the black interior though, I remember it as being a bit claustrophobic.
At the dealership close by, I saw a FWD/Tech Griggio Metallic model, with all the front and rear chrome painted, and it looks great, especially with the bodykit and 19 inch multi-spoke Acura wheels

pretty cool that Ron Tonkin Acura...if thats the name of that dealership has 09TL loaners...my Acura dealer used to only provide TSX loaners, just recently in 07, they got a couple 07-08 TL loaners and a few RDX loaners. Hopefully they get 09 TL loaners soon. I know some Acura dealers dont provide loaners at all though so I shouldnt be complaining..lol.

I saw one in person at Costco in a lighter color, and it looked alright. Honestly, from the car mag photos, I think the light colored grill ruins the front of a dark TL.... which is a shame cuz the new TL would look sexy in metallic black with tints and dark rims.

That's an RL? Oye, I'm glad I saved 15K and got my TL. Jeez that's pretty bad... I used to look up to the RL, but I'm all grown now!

In what frame of mind would it take an Acura exec to look at that RL on a drawing or as a mock up and say, "yeah, that looks good."?
What normal person would think that car is attractive? It's a mystery.

Yep!
A question for the ages. Once the hoopla dies down and the TL begins the second year of production, Acura will need to make major changes to both the TL and TSX unless they want a full revolt from Acura dealers.
The RL and RDX are non-starters, and the MDX will face continued competion from more gas/environmentally friendly options.
A couple of other points:
1. Acura dealers have taken to driving TLs and TSXs on the road to compensate for low visibility/poor sales.
2. The bumper mismatch is further proof that even when Acura identifies a glaring issue, they are incapable of fixing it.
3. If it was not for Honda loyalists, i.e., those who are afraid to try a different signal stalk, Acura would be joining GM and Chrysler in 6 months. :thumbsdow

I'd have to agree with all points there. I would also throw in the leather seats bunching up, and the base model stock rims are not luxury. If they want to compete with Audi, BMW, Infinity and Lexus, who's all stock rims look better than the TL's, they gotta make the car look tougher! Those 17" stock rims say Honda Accord!

They took Acura's most beautifull car and butchered it. I didnt think the RL sales could tank any lower but Acura wants to prove us wrong.
With all this new design from Acura, the TSX is by far the best looking as the size and lines blend well and fit it best IMO.
I dont hate or love the TL's front but the rear is horrible. None of the lines flow well with the TL as the front, rear and sides all seem to have a diffreent theme. Some people say its the same bold design as the CTS but it has consistant sharp lines throughout and the lines obviously flow better....On the plus side the TL's interior was very well done compared to the 3G...
