Talking New pics of my 2010 TL 6MT

I picked up both the midnight chrome trim pieces & the factory spoiler kit from Tim at Acura of Peoria. (Great deal and great guy to do business with!)

Finally made some time this weekend to install everything, give it a quick detail and take some new shots. I really like the look of the spoiler kit and the midnight chrome trim looks great on CBP. I could never get the brown stains off the original grill & rear trim pieces, so this looks so much better now.

The install wasn't too hard, although the back bumper gets a bit wobbly after cutting out the necessary holes, so it would've been beneficial to have a second pair of hands. I took my my time and got everything installed without any issues. Anyone thinking of buying the spoiler kit, if your comfortable working on your car, you should be able to do a self install. It'll save you quite a few $$ too.

So here are the pics, 2010 Acura TL SH-AWD 6MT w/HPT & the freshly installed spoilers and midnight chrome grill and rear trim. The before pics can be seen in this thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/4g-tl-photograph-gallery-296/2010-tl-sh-awd-tech-6mt-pics-753328/

Enjoy!

The midnight chrome grille looks GREAT! It is such a big improvement from the original. They should have used this for all the 4G TL's in the first place!!!

BTW, do you think that this chrome grille will show chips and scratches more easily than the original one? Is there anything that one can do to reduce that risk?

I really think that CBP is one of the very best colors for the 4G TL - together with the umber interior, it is absolutely amazing looking!!! I am just so not ready for another black car though (can't deal with the high maintenance again! Sigh...)

Thanks! I think the midnight chrome makes a big improvement over the stock satin silver. Even more so seeing it in person.

I'm hoping the new grill will fare better than the stock, as I had quite a lot of "muck" on it, from a chip or two and the horrible discoloration. For now I'm probably just going to use some wax/sealant, but may look at a clear bra type coating. That may help against chips and scratches.

After seeing the umber interior I wish it was available on the 6MT, it looks really classy. I love the CBP on the TL as well, and it does take a bit extra to keep it clean, but when it's clean I think it's the best looking color out there.

I swear, these cars would sell like hotcakes if Acura freaking put better wheels like these ones on ALL the 4G's. Along with the midnight chrome pieces. Gah.

Your car is awesome sir.

midnight chrome grill and at least 18 inch wheel should have been stock for all TL from the beginning.

Your TL is one of the best factory set up.

Thanks! I agree, the midnight chrome grill really transforms the car. I'm extremely pleased with how it looks now.

Thanks as well! Those are the HPT option 19" wheels that it came with. I bought a set of the stock SH-AWD 18" wheels to mount my snow tires on too.

The 18" rims should have been included for the base 3.5TL, as those 17" rims look terrible! They look so terribly small for the big size of the car, and they are just not very attractive rims (rather downmarket appearing, if you ask me!) to start with anyway........

Yeah, the midnight chrome grille should have been stock.

Stuart - thanks for posting. I've been thinking about the midnight chrome pieces for some time for my CBP too. Yours looks great. I think I'm just about there.

Keep us posted as to whether they are more resistant to the stains and streaks that a lot of us have encountered with the stock satin trim pieces on the grill and trunk.

The midnight chrome is beautiful, I have seen it in person too. And damn those OEM rims are fantastic. So much better than the other ones. Well done.

That chrome looks fantastic on black!

WD-40 actually got every single stain off of the silver trim. Weird huh? I was desperate after I thought the parts were ruined by road salt, and voila, like new.

I agree, the Midnight Chrome is the way to go. Personally I'm on the side of loving the 'beak'. I didn't at first, but after shopping around I realized how most 'midsize entry level luxury cars' all look the same. I now embrace this new direction and hope they don't water it down in 2011.

I had the midnight chrome installed on my Polished Metal TL SH-AWD that I recently purchased. It blends better than the matte silver IMHO since it reflects its surroundings.

I'm posting a few pics and the most telling is to see the old grill with the new side by side.
