Hey everyone,
I just recently purchased a lightly used 2009 TL (previous owner only had it about 8 months and 8K miles). It's CBP with the Taupe interior. I stumbled onto this forum when I was researching the car a bit before I bought it, and love the enthusiasm and info everyone has so after I bought the car I decided I'd become a member. Anyway, this TL is the car I drive everyday and so far I love it. I plan to modify a few things on the car but I'm a relative newbie when it comes to things like that so I will probably be picking some of your brains in the coming months. The previous owner already tinted the windows and I happen to like the way he did so I can check that one off the list. Here's what I have in mind though:

-New wheels and tires for the non winter months - something machined with a black lip I think. Love some of the Vossens if I can swing the cost.

-New grill and rear trim - either the RonJon "A" Bar option or just painted to match, rear trim painted to match, possibly in a matte black type finish not sure yet though

-Smoke the tail lights and do a cut out that leaves the turn signal portion or the center brake light portion, we shall see.

Thats all I have planned for now but who knows maybe I'll get a little more adventurous in the future. Looking forward to getting started and hearing everyones feedback/advice. I paid 32,250 for it...I checked the used list prices on the TL's for quite awhile before pulling the trigger on this one....I feel like it was a fair price for both the dealer and I.

JM, I'm yet to full on try that but I have whipped it around a few of the sharper bends around town and so far the SH-AWD is a stud and handles like on rails.

Tech or no Tech package?

According to the door handles its non tech.

The door handles for a Tech and a base model are different?

I guess the Tech package has chrome accented door handles. I just learned something new today. Hooray!

yup. Non tech is all black, tech has chrome on top. and the little button to lock the doors from the outside on the front driver and passenger doors.

I didn't know that either. I was wondering where the chrome came from on the door handles of other peoples pics I've seen. I think it looks sharp with that chrome accent on the door handles. Yet another reason to be jealous of those with the tech, but I had to make a decision in my budget between the Tech package and AWD (just couldn't afford to do both) and being from the midwest and the often treacherous winter months I went with the AWD.

saw a black 4G on the road today, it looks 100 times better in person than it does in any pictures. Everything on the car just flows much better when seen in person, especially the grill.
