New 2012 SH-AWD 6MT in Silver Moon
Finally back in an Acura. Previous Acura history - 95 GSR (2 door, 5 speed, white), 02 RSX Type-S, 07 TSX (black on black 6MT), 06 RL (Lakeshore Silver Metallic).
Between the RL and this TL I had a Mazda 3S Grand Touring. I really liked the Mazda (had some features that my TL doesn't, like adaptive front lighting and rain-sensing wipers), but the TL is SO much nicer. I initially was intrigued to go in to drive a 6MT ILX, but didn't find it was that much better in any respect than my loaded 3. They talked me in to driving the 6MT TL and I was hooked.
Somewhere in that mix of Acuras I had an 08 Lancer Evo X that was dolled up to 400+HP. I miss that car a lot, but there was a lot I didn't like about it. I don't trust Mitsu reliability so every time I drove the thing I thought it was going to blow up. The interior sucked too. It was fast though, and I loved it. I traded it for the RL and drove the RL only for a few months before I got bored. It was super lux compared to the Evo, so it was a nicer car to be in, but the lack of a manual drove me nuts.
This TL is the perfect combination of everything I loved about the Evo and everything I loved about the RL with absolutely NO compromises. It's not as fast as the Evo, but it gets up and goes and doesn't feel heavy at all - and the interior and Tech package features more than offset the difference in speed.
I have to admit, I wasn't a fan of the "beak" at all, but these new 2012 front-ends look classy IMO. Common complaints now is that they're "too boring" and don't stand out enough. After driving an Evo X with a huge rear wing, the factory body kit, and that huge mouth full of intercooler with big red Brembo brakes... I can tell you that standing out isn't always a good thing. :-)
This TL is an amazing piece of kit, and really feels special. I love it. :-)

Congrats!!! Nice car, and i too missed the manual transmission, which landed me in my Bellanova White 2012 TL SH-AWD 6MT. You will love every little bit of it!

Thanks all! It's been really great so far. Took it on a little road trip to some friends' this weekend and got pulled over for speeding (50 in a 35). I really have to watch speed with this car... it's hard to judge by feel how fast you're really going because it rides so smooth and it's so quiet. Luckily he reduced it to "impeding traffic" (no points, and much cheaper).
