New 2011 WDP TL SH-AWD Tech

I traded my old ride (2009 base) in for a 2011 WDP SH-AWD tech.

Just finished getting the side skirts on, and the windows tinted.

I took my 18 inch wheels off, these 17" inchers are on because these are my winter tires. When the snow is all gone I will put my 18" wheels back on.

I also installed PIAA Super Plasma GT-X DRLs, but I do not think I can recommend them. They are not bright white or blue. They are still kinda yellowish. I may look for other DRLs.

I traded because there are some really good incentives right now and low lease rates. I guess the bad winter we had really got to me as well. I got 0.01% lease rate. Its just a big step up to have the 3.7, SH-AWD and the tech package.

Wow, 0.1%? Impressive.

To you, is there a huge difference between the base and the SH? I know on paper it says "this this and this are different", but driving it, do you feel the difference?

yeah there is def a differece in drive between the 2 i have the 11 base and had about 2 loaners sh-awd's when i had the 06 ..you dont notice the extra power to much because the sh-awd is heavier but you def feel the difference in handling when you hit those turns and corners and the pull off is a little more stronger than the front wheel drive base model because you got more wheels gripping ..i think with the right mods you can feel a tremendous difference with the sh-awd ..NICE CAR ..ENJOY ...

Glad to see you stayed with Acura and congrats on your new ride. BTW what is that black thing hanging from the right side front bumper in the pic below?

Thanks guys

The SH-AWD feels a little bit heavier, but it is fast. I think it has a little more torqure in 2nd and 3rd gear. Maybe because of the weight (or perhaps more sound insulation) I think it feels more solid or substantial.
A major benefit, as TRIUMPHT said, is the ability to power through corners. You feel totally in control instead of just hanging on, and you want to accellerate through to keep the G forces going. You can somtimes feel the rear pushing from the outside wheel.

I figured with winter tires the car would be a monster on the snow or ice and it is great.

The bad? The suspension is stiff. Most time I like it, but when I hit some potholls I hear sounds I never heard in the FWD model.
The stearing is possibly a little more numb feeling on centre than in the the FWD.

These pics are just with my blackberry. When the snow is gone I will get the car detailed, put my bigger wheels on and take some real pictures with my SLR

Oh yeah that black thing on the front is the plug for the block heater. IT has a cover and is just tied there. Maybe I should stuff it inside since I never use it.

In Canada they have 1% leases now. But as returning customer you get 1.25% off the lease rate.

But they would not go to 0%, but would not go beyond 0.01%.

Thanks people. I am considering adding the rest of the body kit this summer.

I wish I was technically proficient enough to clear out my headlights. I'd love to do that.

Have JnC do it for you, you won't regret it . Sharing a car with the wife for a few days shouldn't be too terrible!

Thats going to be me and the wife also as soon as her lease is up on her accord shes getting an MDX! We have a lot of MDX/TL combos on the board!
BTW is there a way to hide that engine block heater cord when not in use?? That would annoy the hell outta me!

Sorry I don't want to necessarilriy resurrect the thread.

Ok, I had never noticed the cord before. But after based on these comments, I tucked the cord into the black grate. It's hidden now. We've had such a mild snowless winter I havn't plugged the car in at all at night.
