New '12 CBP SH AWD after 5 coats of Zaino

Just picked up my 12 TL last weekend, and had a chance to Put 5 coats of Zaino on it today. Traded in an 11 TSX, and I love this car.

here are some of my old rides...

they are MGP Caliper covers with the Acura Logo on them. i had them on my TSX. On this car, id prefer black, but i get a lot of compliments on them. i may order a set in black eventually.

ok, i am going to flame a little bit here....first, the car looks great, but if your only keeping your car for a year or soo, there is no need for 5 coats of anything....

and second, the caliper covers are border line you know what.....

The zaino is more for the "wet" look it gives the car than the protection. i use the A-I-O cleaner, 3 coats of polish (Z2), and one coat of clear seal at the end. The caliper covers run about $200 for the set of 4. People on this forum love to flame them since theyre not a $2500 BBK, but they look a lot better than the oem calipers, and in person everyone who sees them likes them. its not like they say "brembo" on them.

Car looks sharp, the caliper cover look better than stock or the plastic one's on e bay,not a whole lot of people can or are willing to shell out $5 K plus for the BBK so i think what you did is a good option.

very very heavy. they were on fire earlier today. i have a buffer/polisher to put the polish on, but you still need to buff the polish off by hand.

WOW!! For a car detailer enthusiast like myself...seeing those pics just made me drool! I am just floored by how great your car looks! I agree that black caliper covers would be nice...they are standard on the RDX and they look great

I usually put 2 coats every time I do mine...one coat of the Mothers Step2 (Scealer and glaze) and then a coat of Collinite. Again, I do it all by hand, on and off. Then I have to do the RDX and the rain car as well....My arm always feels heavy.

The car looks amazing! Unfortunately, it appears someone vandalized it by putting a UF plate on it

Mike, very well done! I've always been a Zaino fan-it was the stuff I started out using when I got my Type S.

I like the caliper covers too-the red looks perfect with a NBP TL. I actually painted my Brembos red and the rear calipers too. I just ordered a pair of Brembo caliper covers for my rear brakes-just don't tell any of the 3G guys that!

Car looks great! I've heard good things about this Zaino stuff. I'm usually a Mother's guy, but i think i'll have to try this product out.

As for the calipers, not feeling it. I think if it were silver it would look good, but imo the red just looks too "17 year old with a Honda Civic" type look. But to each their own.

So I guess you think that Ferrari, Lamborghini, Corvette etc are a bunch of ricers because most of them have painted calipers from the factory?

from an honest opinion, TSX or TL? minus the sh-awd, if both are v6 and tech, with same price, which one would you pick?

potmilkz....even without the SH-AWD, I would still take the TL over the TSX (and I have had both) and to me, its mostly due to the cockpit interior of the TL. I feel the TL is more upscale and feels nicer inside and to be honest, I like the exterior of the TL better. I think the grill of the TSX is not as nice as the 2012 TL....My 2 cents if it matters

Nice. BTW NBP w/ 5 coats of Zaino looks amazing and so does the red caliper covers. Definitely gives the car a nice look.

$200 on the MGP website!
What material are they made from?
That price would be a bit high if they are plastic.

I give anybody their props that use Zaino. Great shine! I love my WDP 09 TL SH-AWD but I don't have the patience to put all of those thin coats of Zaino along with the whole process.

Zaino works and looks great, if you don't need any paint correction done.
