Interesting...to each his own. I'm not a fan of plasti dip. I am a fan of vinyl wrap though.

When I saw the title, I figured the OP just Plasti Dipped the beak. Not everything but the beak! Wow! If I parked behind a driving range, I would still pass on the Plasti Dip. Why? Why? Why?

Why do you hate dipped and vinyl cars so much? And why can't a TL be orange lol

Wow, the gray was actually attractive. Folks at my job checked it out, but were feeling the above shot of the orange better then the other views of it. What's the process for plastic dipping? A co-worker just told me his mom's 2013 Lexus LS is dipped.

OP - like the others I'm not really feeling it, but props to you for doing what you want and like even if it isn't in line with everyone else's preferences / expectations.
Unfortunately you've now opened the door for people to criticize you and your car because they get off on trying to make others feel stupid. It's not enough for them to simply say they don't like it because that would mean they actually have character and class, which they clearly don't.
Hopefully you're smart enough to not give a fuck about what others think or say.

I don't need anyone patting me on the back for anything, especially someone on an internet forum that I could give two shits about.
I just don't get people like you and I never will. Does it make your dick hard to talk shit to people you don't know? Even when you're actually trying to add value to a conversation you say it in a way that attempts to make the other person look stupid.

Anyway's, OP. I think the job looks very nice as far as the application of the plasti dip. The orange is a little bit different and although it is not my style I can still appreciate the work put into it. I think the best part about plasti dip is you pay 1/4 of the price of a wrap and it is essentially the same thing. Let's not forget, this will all peel off, so in terms of this being permanent, it is not. It would be cool to see what other colors can be done. I always appreciate seeing different things on our cars. Have you considered the matte white pearl?

Wow, hostility on a Friday.
Look you guys (and you know who you are....), this stops here and now.
There is nothing wrong with not liking what the Original Poster does to their car. What will NOT be tolerate is personal belligerence.
It's not what you say....IT'S THE WAY YOU SAY IT.
Do I make myself clear? Some of you are one step away from a vacation and/or a permanent vacation.

Not the colors I'd pick but props for doing it. I don't know why everybody thinks they're so above cheap mods. Plenty of luxury cars do this. And it's fully reversible so absolutely no harm in doing it. Go bold, then back to stock when you wanna flip it in a few years. Good job OP.

Just mask off what you want and spray. You can technically spray the whole car then peel off what you don't need but that's wasting a lot of dip. It's a fun process and cheap mod. I have a lease and switch every year so I'm not doing major mods on a car.

yeah, like it was stated earlier...MANY cars (that cost 2-3x's as much as ours) are starting to Plasti-Dip the whole car. Cheap, fast, reversible/non-permanent color change for people who are indecisive or like/need constant change. "Haters gon' HATE"...but remember, there will be a handful that will like what you do, so keep up what YOU like and "live and learn".
OP, the color is different...kind of reminds me of Orange Sherbet! Lol...flat pearl white (or matte white) will look nice, not "different", but NICE. Good luck, be sure to post up pics of that color!

When I bought Plasti-Dip to do my wife's Tahoe rims (before we traded that in for the TL) it was a grand total of $80 for 6 cans (3 black and 3 glossifier)...so...I would ASSUME it would cost around $500 too "dip" a whole car...and "dip" isn't a long-term plan...it's for people who like change or just can't afford $2000 for a wrap or a paint job...not to mention, it's QUICK.

Make sure don't park under the tree when there is bird dropping or else you need to redo that section. I did it for a customer car and the dumb ass park under the tree and a bird shit landed on the trunk and dried out for a couple of days on the hot sun and found out it ate up not only the plasti dip paint but also the stock paint. So once you have bird shit...better get it clean right away! Have fun!
