Moose your active on "Car Talk", it seems like most the posters there are former Acura owners who now bash the brand/4G and seem to think they've upgraded () to Mazdas, Kia's and Hyundai's. I'm reletivily new to the board, maybe you can give me the backstory (abbreviated) on this?
TSXboy I responded to your question in regards to posting pictures in the CBP picture thread.

Disclaimer: It's all relative to what you use your Mazda/Acura for, my perspective/confusion is that of DD. Twin turbo rx7 weekend toys and such are not in the equation.
I couldn't see myself going from a RSX, TSX, TL into a Mazda 3/6 and feeling like I'm in a better vehicle but what really baffles me are those that find the Mazda 3 good looking/acceptable but a 4G fugly.

I meant the "speed" version, the mazda 3speed in particular is extremely ugly. Also since when do cars with 260hp need hood vent(s), is it because of the small turbo?
I'm not arguing their performance. There is just a cheapness about them that makes me feel ; maybe if I were 16 it'd be good enough.

Some feel as if you can get the same quality/value for a cheaper price elsewhere. To each their own. Even through the ups and downs of my 2004 tsx, i still love it. I can't decide on what to buy and at the same time I want to concentrate on repaying my student loans to buy a better car ever since I saw a certain someones IS-F at cars and coffee. just my

*Edit just read the response.
I can't speak for everyone, but a lot of people are mad about how honda/acura have become happy without moving forward. Something as simple as the transmission. 5 speed autos are becoming dated, a lot of companies are moving to 6-8 speeds in the auto, remember that is just one example.

The hood scoop is there for the same reason as subaru's is, the intercooler is on the top of the motor, it is 110% functional. Mazda is my favorite import brand, my 323 turbo was awesome, my v6 626 was amazing, at the time of buying my tsx ($12k) the speed3 and speed6 were out of my budget b/c I was still in school.

I love how one guy wanted to show off his new TL and now we/re talking about if the intercooler sits on top of the motor of a Mazda.
You guys are geniuses!
