I recently pick up a 4G and the modding has begun. So far i had the bodykit put on, tint the windows and rear lights, dropped on TEIN SS. Lot of more MODs to come...My Work wheels are on order and will be on by the end of the month. Here's a sneak peak...More pics to come when the wheels are on.

Murky, I had to get rid of that big wheel gap. My tires are now right at the fenders and now i have full control of my ride height to adjust as i see fit. It will be nice when i get my work wheels on soon.

I bet, I can't wait for the pics. I was hoping to have my wheels on before acurafest but I don't see that happening :( your car is coming along great, keep up the good work.

dieseldub 09-07-2010 08:41 AM

sick, i wish i could go that low in Montreal, but our roads are nasty. What size and offset are your wheels, mine are 20x9 with 35 offset and i occasionally rub, just hope yours don't, can't wait to see what it looks like.

How do you adjust your height? you have to jack the car up and turn a collar on the coils? can you show pics and more info on the edfc?

MurkyRiversTL 09-07-2010 12:18 PM

^ that controls the damping force but does not adjust the height of the car. The height is done by turning the collars which usually requires jacking of the car.

BLACKURA_NY 09-07-2010 12:37 PM

looks amazing!! i wish i held out for these...

MurkyRiversTL 09-07-2010 12:46 PM

Im sure someone will buy your springs if you sell them. You need these, its a must!!!

My wheels are Work VS-XX in Burning Black 20x9 et 37 with A Disk (front) and O disk (rear)...if they rub i can adjust my TEIN coilover to help eliminate rubbing. When i get the wheels on at the end of the month i'll keep you posted.
You are correct on jacking the car up and turn collar on coils to adjust height...The EDFC controls the hard and soft of the ride you want. I've shown a pic of the EDFC on another thread already.

Never thought about the chrome trim. Thanks for the idea and it probably will look good. Not on my list for now i got some other MODs in progress.

fusiongt 09-07-2010 08:44 PM

crazyasiantl 09-07-2010 08:55 PM

Have you ever thought about blacking out the chrome?

A member did it on his 4th gen WDP, and it looks SICK!!!!

I've had the setup for only 6 days and has driven only about 100 miles with the coilovers on so with more time i'll go into more detail...So far the ride is alot better than stock and the car hugs the road alot better especially in the curves by being lowered. With the EDFC yes you can make the ride softer than stock. I have mine set at 11 front and rear and to me it's already softer than stock. The great thing about the EDFC is you can adjust until you get the right feel you the driver want. Overall am very happy with the ride so far.

Never came to mind!!! but if you're going for that blacked out murdered look :toocool: that will be an excellent option.

MurkyRiversTL 09-08-2010 12:50 AM

Its actually a good option if youre going for the sport look rather than luxury. Im debating whether I want to black out the chrome or not. Depends on what I do with the grill.

FYAH TL 09-08-2010 01:00 AM

So many options!!!Post some pics after you've made your decision.

Damn!! I was wanting to get some VS-XX for my girls car. 20x9's all around. Granted it wasnt going to be until the summer, being she just got the car last week. Cant wait to see pics! Car looks dope with just the drop:thumbsup:

Mr Marco 09-08-2010 08:20 AM

You guys and your Crystal Black Pearl. You are giving me second thoughts. Wife and I talked, looked at sales brochures, and both agreed on Basque Red Pearl. But everytime I see the TL in CBP I think it just might be the best color for the car and it's agressive looks.

not necessarily.
i think the murdered out look is played out. Sorry Murky :tomato:
Murky has done it right tho, his car looks classy.

but if done right, the black trim incorporates a more sportier theme. the chrome that is on now looks a little too flashy and out of place.

We have to remember what murdered out is, its not just black with black trim. Murdered out is matte black with not a damn thing but balck everywhere including limo tint all around. I never was aiming for that.... cause like you said.... its played out.

777mycoolangelo 09-08-2010 11:33 AM

coming along nicely!

777mycoolangelo 09-08-2010 11:49 AM

How much did the coilovers set you back?

Also with the fully body kit are you scraping up front no matter if you angle it?

BLACKURA_NY 09-08-2010 01:00 PM

judging by your rotors, you have a 2010?

my damn rusted-to-shit rotors make my wheels look terrible... yours look so clean

The coils set me back around 1K. Am not scraping at all but then again i don't pull all the way up the curb. All my cars have been lowered so am accustomed to driving lowered cars.

Yeah a 2010. So far my rotors have held up pretty good. Time will tell if i get the same rust problem. Are you considering a big brake set-up?

More pictures please, this drop is perfect...

I wish I got those rims... :(

Aman 09-08-2010 11:17 PM

First time I've seen a 4G lowered. It really looks like it would be a good VIP platform.
