Matte Silver 2012 TL
Matte Silver 2012 TL
I saw this at the SEMA show out in Las Vegas this past week.

I thought this picture was interesting. It has a CT Engineering sticker on the window. The hood was never opened to see what was under the hood, whether it be something simple as an intake or maybe even a supercharger. Sadly CT Engineering wasn't at the SEMA show so I wasn't able to ask.

Btw those are Rotiform wheels and their whole line-up is effing sick. I want to see more of these wheels on 4G TLs.

Thanks for the pictures. Looks like a silver moon without the metallic flake. (Side note, I do really like silver moon, the metallic flake is tremendous). Still looks like a factory paint job. The grill and exhaust are very nice. The grill looks like Di-Noc and black chrome. Twin exhaust looks excellent too.

At the risk of being a naysayer, I believe the whole matte paint thing will run its course (thankfully). The few I have seen at car shows always look good under whatever special lighting they use. But any time I have seen a matte painted car on the street I always first think that I am looking at a primed car that is ready for painting. This is even the case with very high end Mercedes that I have seen in matte black.
FUnny, my brother sent me pics from SEMA of that TL last week. I agree, it looks awesome. He mentioned that 90% of the cars there were wrapped. At an average cost of 3-5k and a life expectancy of 3-5years, I dont see why people wouldnt just get fresh paint jobs every 3-5. I too believe that in two years there wont be any more matte wrap jobs. He said he saw a couple colored chrome wrapped cars.. If that says anything....
the dull paint takes the focus off the horrible lip kit design, esp in the rear, and it looks decent.
PS, the "Acura" logo (on the trunk lid) looks like crap the way it was put back on. The spacing is all off and the angle.

Dude you have to clean out those amber lights.
I put on the chromed out amber light from Stealth Auto in the front and back. The car is hot but that amber reflection in the housing looks horrible. The tails have that eggyolk look and the front ones too.
I have pics on my install in my profile. Check them out. It will clean out your car even more.

No problem! I looked all over the place, even asked some SEMA employees, and looked at multiple maps. The closest thing I saw to Comptech was the exhaust and sticker on this 4G TL and this HFP Accord V6 with a "custom" supercharger strapped on...

As you can see, it looks exactly like a CT Supercharger found on 2G CL/TLs and 3G TLs, but it had no CT labeling whatsoever. The stand by the car said it was a "custom built supercharger kit".
The Acura presence there was terrible. One or two RSXs, one 3G TL-S, one 4G TL, and two or three NSXs

I certainly could be wrong, but that looks like a factory paint job. The fact that bumpers are slightly darker is typical of the factory paint job where the coverage is so thin the difference between the base black bumpers and the metal body panels comes through. If the car was wrapped, I would expect that to be not possible. Nevertheless, I really like the black window trim. Was the roof chrome also blacked out?
I think the base of the color of the TL is already silver and they used a matte transparent vinyl and overlay it on top. There is a company call VentaShield have that application and cost like well over $1000 for a roll. I recalled a local dealership have a white Scion TC with have the matte transparent vinyl. When I look at the sticker price, they dealer charged $5000 for the matte finished TC.

Yeah I really don't know much about this car. All I know is that I saw it, took pictures, and posted them here
The '12 lip kit looks great. Pictures don't do it justice.
