So I go to the dealer the other day to chat about some options I have with the ole 07... Right as I start to leave I see this 2012 pull out on the lot... It only has 2286 miles on it so i say to myself..."Self.., I like black on black".... So I guess I'm gonna have to figure out a way to change my name from 07TLFIXITUP to 12TLFIXITUP ... lol... more posts to come.. The bad thing is, I'm having a hard time naming her.. The 07's name was respectively.TarLita... Nothing has struck my mind yet that doesnt have the names Tara or Lisa in them yet....

Thanks for the compliment. I got it tinted two days ago. 15% wrap around with a 5% visor strip. The 07 had 5% wrap around so I'm having to get used to a lighter tint. Not sure if i like the lighter tint.

Maybe not but I'm a kid at heart and since I named my last two TL's i feel kinda compelled to name her...

I already do. The power is amazing and I still cant get over the massive increase in gas mileage!!! im getting 400 miles to a tank vs 280 in the 07!!

It probbably is lame but like I mentioned, I'm a kid at heart and the goofy side of me likes to name them. I think by naming them it helps me take better care of them. I pampered the 07 and sold it for $22K with 76k mileson it!! I know it sounds crazy but this man wanted a good car for his daughter to go to college in a well kept vehicle and he couldnt buy it fast enough. The market in Memphis is CRAZY for nice cars in excellent condition.

Thanks everybody!!! I'm off to search for better headlights!! Does any body know if JnC has any upgrades for the 2012's?? I havent been on the AZ site for months. Sorry for neglecting you guys.. Oh and does anybody know if there is a way to turn my nav screen into a tv/ monitor? Thanks erybody!!!

Jnc or AckTL05 can put tsx-r lenses into your TL headlights which should improve them by roughly 10-15%. You can also have led halos installed and amber clearing.

Maybe you should get your tail lights blacked out too.

Tell me about the tsx lenses... Are these the lenses out of a tsx or is that just the name like in the 3g Tl's were the ZKW lenses. What about bulbs?? I had factory Osram bulbs in the 07. I upgraded to the 85122+ bulb. Is there a better bulb I should go with?.. Sorry I'm all questions. I'm wanting to black out the tails too for sure. I want the switch back led turn signals and LED plate lights also.. Any help is appreciated fellas...

They are tsx replica lenses. They are sought after for the clarity and wide beam pattern. Im going to leave the bulbs stock... i didnt see much of a difference between bulbs unless they were getting old.

So there's no point in getting the 85122+'s? Or is that a different bulb for the older models?

I think that its only worth upgrading the bulb if your current one is 2+ years old. The difference would only be a ~100 lumens ... not worth the money.

what about the switchbacks? Arent there 2 turn signals on the 2012's?

I think its the same as mine. One on the bumper, another on the mirror and one on the tail light.

It can be hard to get at the bulb but I did the electrical tape mod on mine. It functions as a turn signal but does not stay on with the parking lights.

The switchbacks will be white with the parking light and amber with the turn signal.

check, I'm familiar with the switchbacks.. Had them on the 07.. I was wondering (without looking at the time) if the light to each outer side of the headlight, was a turn signal or a side marker... knowing now its just a side marker.. But back to the original question, I have learned that the front turn signal is an 1157 confirmed by Acura, I was wanting a BRIGHT LED to replace the amber bulb currently in its place.. The problem I'm having with THAT is not knowing which brand to use..... I replaced my license plate lights with LED's from a local store and SCORED!!! It looks so exotic now. The brand I went with is called "STICK LED Lighting" T-Type by PUTCO brand LED's. Since they are exactly what I wanted I'm planning on using the brand for all my LED lighting.

I also modded the overhead LED lighting in the overhead console by taking the console out, totally breaking it down so that i had the black plastic board exposed. I used chrome tape and lined the cone platsic housing to amplify the light. Since the LED is soldered onto the board, I only wanted to try something I was comfortable doing. Thus the chrome tape mod. AAAnnnd it WORKED !!! I used the instructions to drill out the light cover and IT too worked perfectly!! Took less than 5 mins to do the mod. very happy with the results if you were interested in doing it yourself..

If you replace the 1157 with an led try to get one with a built in resistor or else youll have to put one in to prevent hyper flashing. For led websites ive used jlc lighting and v-leds. Both ive had a good experience with.

I saw the v-LEDs site but every good bulb was either on back order or there aren't reviews letting one know how the bulb is. Not to mention there are SEVERAL to chose from!! I think I'll start a thread and get input!!

The overhead light project took about 45 mins from start to finish. There are 2screws in the sunglasses holder and the rest is held in with pressure clips. The chrome tape cost $6 at autozone. I was real meticulous so that the metal tape does not touch the circuit board... Any other questions feel free to ask.
