Not to hijack, but we are starting those wheels after we are done with these Legacy Forged Monoblock wheels for Justin.

Thanks Ron - The Sentinel wheels are killer - but lets keep the conversation about those wheels on another thread.
I choose the Legacy forged (the 5spoke design) for the best traction, and best weight savings - plus I have full confidence they'll look hott

i was looking at the pic of your car again... couple of comments..

I never liked the beak on the 09-11 on cars WITHOUT the body kit.. the beak was too heavy looking... but once you add the lip kit.. like you have..it adds more girth to the car and it just looks HOT.

now that they have toned DOWN the beak... I wonder if the 2012 cars with body kits and drops will look as good as yours?? i'd like to see a side by side of a car like yours vs a 2012... lowered/lip kit and see how it looks.

i know you did th tein setup... very cool. for those of us on a budget... will H&R springs get about the same drop or are you lower than H&R can go? looks slick.

makes me want a new TL... although I do still really enjoy the luxo ride in my RL....

The H&R's have about a 1.5" drop. My setup is slightly more than that on the TEIN's as of now (~1.75" drop). I have it setup with no rake - and the wheels slightly tuck. I will adjust it for a slight rake and not tuck the wheels when my 19's arrive. The TEIN setup will go lower then the H&R and maintain comfort IMO much better.

For my day to day drive my tires are inflated to 37psi, and the EDFC set to 4 front 4 rear. This most def rides much softer then stock, while maintaining full control and rigidity on the corners. I'm very pleased with the ride comfort. It has the feedback from the road that I want to feel from the suspension - yet I don't feel too isolated and in a bubble.

I would love to see a 2012 next to mine with the new grill and the full body kit treatment and dropped. Unfortunately, I'll have the RonJon grill on by then and my new rims and I don't think that will be a fare contest.

If anyone is in the Pittsburgh / NE Ohio area and wants to take a ride in my TL to get a feel for this suspension get at me... I'm game for a mini-meet / test ride.

Oh I will! I'm waiting to hear back from my paint guy on spraying out the different variances of WDP for the best match. Also looking to have the paint mis-match taken care of at the same time so I may be driving the wifes' Sonata turbo for a few days

quite a bit. The with the Takeda I noticed a shift in the power band which added more top end power. The j-pipe shifted that cuve down, and there is a very noticeable grunt around 3k rpms. The car pulls quite effortlessly whether left in 5th and passing on the highway, or downshifting to rapidly accelerate. In the previous generations (3rd gen TL) the j-pipe was known to add 20hp/20lb/ft of tq. I'm not certain of the dyno numbers on XLR8's pipe.. I'll be having the car dyno'd shortly.

In some ways I miss my 3G... but the 4G is a whole new animal. Take one for a test drive, but as we often say on the 4G side leave your wallet at home

Indeed it does - it's quite intoxicating. The exhaust note is something to behold when hearing it from behind the car. Similar to the 3rd gen, but deeper, and louder.

20hp from a j pipe alone!?!? Where do i sign up!?!? U know if those numbers were achieved with the whole setup or just the j pipe?

The j-pipe on the 3rd Gen gained that much... I can only imagine the 4th gen is that much if not slightly more due to the slightly larger displacement motor.

Some progress pictures on the rims from RonJon

Not finished yet... just came out of from machining

First off, I would like to say jnc2000, thank you for posting all the pictures and videos. I normally do not sign up for forums but after seeing your post, I registered and made comment here. Have you upgraded any of lights such as higher HID K's? And fog lights or any other lights? If so, can you post some pics. and share? Thanks,

It's in paint right now - then back to RonJon for photo's - then it'll be shipped out to me. If I'm lucky I'll get them mounted next weekend

With a very special finish / paint

+1.

Also, I remember you mentioning that you want to swap the OEM projector with something better. Being that the OEM projector sits so far back in the housing the shields are designed with an aggressive foreground limiter. If the projectors dont have an aggressive foreground limiter then the light will hit the silver ridges present right in front of the projectors.

The only other projector with this aggressive of a foreground limiter is the first gen SC430 low beam projector. The way its made I think that would be a perfect replacement for the OEM projectors .

Just something to keep in mind if you are planning on doing the retro in the future.
