Was at the dealership today getting some work done on my 3g and saw this on the sales floor. I hadn't seen the 4g with the front grill color matched. Excuse the cell phone pics:

Yup, many dealerships across the country are doing this to cover up the massive stock grille on the 4G TL. I think it the color matched grille will only look good on the black, but who knows.

It looks much better painted. No question. Did they also paint the giant bling strip in the back?

That's one of 3 different versions of the painted nose I've seen....it looks good.

Mine is identical. Painted back and front, and it really helps the lines of the car flow smoothly. It looks tougher! LOL. Too bad they can't match the factory paint, it's just not as brilliant as the factory. Man it's so hard to hold those phone camera's steady, ain't it?

the local dealership is doing that as well ... infinite improvement. I'm waiting for American Honda to put down a 'stop-it' order since it is hindering their 'corporate look'. Guess Honda was selling too many vehicles .. the buck-tooth-trio certainly put a stop to that.

yeah they did paint the back strip as well I think it makes it look a lot better. I honestly thought I was holding the phone rock steady lol!

the 4G is starting to grow on me. We just got one in the showroom. 4G SH-AWD WDP with that orange type interior.

Just saw one last week on the street, OMG what have they done to the TL! That front is just so butt ugly. Oh wait, it's Honda, figured they'd eventually kill the TL. First the Civics, then the Prelude, then the Accord...now the TL.

LOL road rash and rock chips will destroy that aftermarket paint. Anyone that does that MUST get the clear bra on it. It's going to look much worse when it's all pitted.

while at my local dealer dropping off my 07 MDX for routine service, I checked out the 4G TLs. they had a gray one with the frnt grill color matched. it looked MUCH better in my opinion.

with the right wheels, the grill painted, and the factory spoiler kit - it looks good.

the interior is EXCELLENT. i didn't drive one as I am not in the market for a sedan anymore... but if I was going to buy a sedan - and wanted a great value - I would give this car a serious consideration.

at first I hated the look, but it's growing on me. they had the 3G and 4G in the same parking lot - so I could see them almost side by side and I have to say, after staring at the 4G, all the 3G TL's looked wimpy. as more and more 4G TLs hit the road, the 3Gs are going to really start looking dated.... glad I dnd't buy an 08...

(i instead kept my DD beate and bought a porsche for fun/weekends) best decision I ever made. you think AWD handles well. HA! take a 2800lb midengined porsche with M030 factory upgraded suspension on FAT 18s with sticky PZeros and you can practically defy the laws of physics...

When I inquired at my dealership, Acura on Brant, Burlington, ON they offered the paint job, without me first asking, for $400. Did you have to pay or did the dealer toss it in?

That's funny, six months ago this board was jumping with posts about how the 4G TL was a German 'killer' based on the meeting in New Orleans.

Fast forward past launch, and now the same BS artists are painting the plenum!

I guess the dealers could have manned up and informed management before the 4G debacle, but that would have been asking too much from such losers.

Having fun selling Civics and Fits, if that, chums!

I think it looks better... and I don't know what's with all the fussing over the grille.. shit it's the FIRST YEAR of production. They'll probably tweak it the next year like they always do... A little grill change here, tail light tweak here, but even if that doesn't come to pass after market stuff will come out, and that shit will look GOOD... I think. Slammed with some 21" it will look DAMNED good.

Man the 4th gen grills should have came colored matched!!! It looks way better compared to it being chrome, the chrome was just making the grill stand out.....

i was at the dealership today and they painted a white front peice painted but not the silver surround. was an additional $249.00 which actually isn't bad. I went to see the body shop in back and they had four of those things drying in the oven bay. personally i like the front the way it is, but the color matched front grill isn't bad.

I agree, front grille looks just fine. When you paint the front grille is like saying "I agree the car is ugly yet i own it!"

i had my front and rear painted to match 2 days after taking delivery. My painter matched it exactly with Acura paint. Not hard to get. So much better than stock.
