A few days ago, I posted a thread asking how to remove my Acura Emblem from the front grille. I asked this because I planned to wrap the grille.

I wanted to update all of you & share some pics.

I had the front grille & rear trunk trim wrapped.

I opted for 3M Scotchprint 1080 Film. I chose gloss black, as it blends with the paint almost perfectly.

However, I had tried to wrap it myself numerous times and would lock up when it came to cutting out the Emblem in grille.

Fed Up , I took the TL over to my friends over at Custom Sprayz in Roselle, IL.

They did an excellent job wrapping both the grille & trim.

The seam is straight as a pin. (no jagged edges).

The wrap job took a few hours and put me back $100.
Money well spent as I was NOT about to blow thru another roll of vinyl.

The guys there are very professional and great at what they do.

When you pull up and they have a Lamborghini & a Ferrari there, you know they do great work.

I will be going back tomorrow for tints.
$160 tint job. I decided on 35% for sides & 20% for rear windshield.

Enjoy the pics!

looks nice, should have wrapped the whole front grill if possible..

curious as to why you had issues cutting a hole in the emblem area.. i see no problem doing that whatsoever..

i was going to do the whole grille, but the vinyl was not holding on the curves of the surrounding trim..

i had a issue cutting it out and getting the vinyl to wrap perfectly around the logo. That is why I just took it and had it done.

Why not just paint the entire grill instead?

This may look better if it was done on a Midnight Chrome grill!

Looks good. I wrapped the outside grille with a brushed gunmetal aluminum color...up close, you can see the massacre...but the wife said she liked it and it looks better than the silver color it comes with, so I left it.

It would have been easier to just pull the beak off and use a heat gun. Glad it worked out for you though. Looks good to me.

Nicely done, but I'd try again to wrap the entire nose.

I will definitely take another shot at it after the cold weather here in Chicago.

I decided not to paint for a few reasons..

1. Resale..some buyers like OEM look.
2. I want to be able to remove the vinyl to change it up from time to time. (3M CF Vinyl Looks Sweet)
3. I feel the vinyl is able to handle rock chipping a bit more.

What difference would this make..?
The vinyl would cover it up.

He meant that with your partial vinyl setup, the midnight chrome showing would look better. I don't see how painting the beak with hurt resale, if anything it's luckily to improve it. Many buyers negotiated into the purchase price for the dealer to paint the beak prior to delivery on 09-11, some dealers even did it without being asked for floor displays.

Someone needs to be introduced to Nexxson... but if you're gonna stay with the wrap it's like 10-15 minutes to pull the entire grill out and have the rest wrapped... if you take it out and separate the grille into three pieces wrapping the outter portion is a cinch... hard card and a heat gun done! and for the record NO ONE likes the OEM grill in the 09-11's as the came. That's one part you have no worrys about loosing value when you paint it...

Looks really good... ESPECIALLY for $100 bucks... #FML Should have done the whole grill though like others have said IMO...

Very cost effective approach... and I'm about 1.5 hours from Custom Sprayz apparently...

But I chose to color match my grill and rear trim to CBP and it cost me A LOT more than $100 bucks. So much more I'm embarrassed to say.

I can't even tell it's vinyl cause it matches the CBP so well. In retrospect, i wish I would have vinyled my grill/trim instead of painting it.... and saved HUNDREDS of dollars for basically the exact same look. #ugh

Oh well, nothing wrong with having it painted Just cost me a lot more than $100 bucks.

$160 for a tint job too? That's half what i spent.

I've gotten r@ped all over the place apparently...
