Finally put some Zaino on her
Even though I must have sweated off about 10 lbs doing this, I think it was worth the effort. Someday I'll pull out my DSL and learn to use it, but these came out pretty nicely. 2 coats of Z5 on Sat followed by 2 coats of Z2 on Monday.
gotta love the Mayan color close-up

WOW! That looks AMAZING!!! Mayan Bronze is an AMAZING color!!!
Those are some inspiration photos for me, as I just picked up a 2010 SH-AWD in Mayan Bronze yesterday - I want my car to look as great as yours!!!
Did you clay bar your car before you applied the Zaino? How long did it take you altogether?

Looks fantastic - nice job. I was torn between the MBM and the CBP. Now you're making me second guess my decision.

As a mayonbronze TL owner myself, that is the shiniest (is that a word) TL I have ever seen. Does this stuff protect the finish of the car or is it just cosmetic?

VERY nice job! Zaino is awesome, but it makes that color look like liquid metal.
Do you plan on tinting the windows?
What rims are those? Are they options or aftermarket?

It supposedly has additives to protect against UV and other age-time deteroriation factors.

I dawned/clayed this spring after the last remnants of winter left, but wasn't happy with the results. This time I just dawned, and applied as indicated. Once you get the hang of Zaino, it only takes about 40 minutes to apply a coat, and only a little longer to remove and spray a coat of z6 in between. Just remember ... less is more. Worst thing about this job was the 90 degree plus temps outside ... translating to even higher temps in the garage.

When you applied it, did you go in a circular or linear motion? What application pad did you use? I certainly hope to duplicate your successful results!!! :-)
Oh... and you said what? LeBron WHO!? LOL

Looks beautiful. Do you ever have issues with some of the product getting in hard to reach areas? Panel gaps, etc.

Hi Six Shifter - you inspired me so much that I got to work this afternoon and put some Zaino on my Mayan Bronze TL SH-AWD too! After almost 5 hours of work, I finally got it done!!! My goodness, that was hard work!!! LOL
Anyway, I noticed in your pics that the Zaino seems to really bring out the bluish hue of the Mayan Bronze paint and make it more burgundy than brown. Now that I am done too, I am noticing the same thing! Do you notice that too? I really love that burgundy hue so this is wonderful.
I wonder if other Mayan Bronze owners who have used Zaino have noticed the same thing too?

I think the presence of the sun - and it's interaction with my cheapy 3.3 mp camera - might have something to do with the apparent hue. Also has a lot to do I believe with the fact that I can't take any pictures of the "M" or "L" variety and retain the crystal clear pictures that shooting with the smaller setting provides. Compare the color to the pics in my wheel thread which were taken under an overcast sky, and the color looks much browner than those taken here. All the more reason I need to get that D-SLR out and start shooting.

Darn it! My baby was looking all clean and shiny this morning, but the sun was not out yet. So the pics really did not do her any justice.... and then IT RAINED! LOL! Now she is all dirty again... sigh! Oh well, maybe next time....
BTW, Six Shifter, did you use the Zaino Activator thing for the Z5 and Z2? I got mine some time ago and it dried up and I had not realized it, so I only just used the plain Z5 and Z2. The result seemed to be OK. Not as shiny as yours!!! But I don't think it's the Activator, rather, it's the number of coats of Z5 and Z2 that I applied (just one each as I ran out of time!). Maybe I will apply another layer next weekend if I have time!!!

Z7 to wash, Master Blaster to dry after I finish rinsing (I never use towels anymore ... switched from a Leaf Blower to the Master Blaster), and you will never, ever see any streaks on my car. I also use some very high quality, thick MicroFiber towels to wash the car using the Z7. Removes the dirt, but doesn't impact the qualities of the shine underneath.
To go back to an earlier question about the hue, I took the following pic the same day as the others. Didn't originally include it, but will here just to show that the Mayan color is affected by how (and the intensity of) the light hits it.
All application/removal done by hand. Takes less than 45 minutes to apply, and a little longer to remove and then apply a light spritz of Z6 between coats. I do use an orbital for a specific purpose at times, but I won't go into that now ... have to keep some secrets secret.

Thank you so much, Six Shifter! I am learning so much from you guys!!! That's great!
Now, I think I am going to order some ZFX (this is so funny as it sounds like the next Acura concept vehicle or something LOL), then do more layers of Z5 and Z2, to see if I can get even better results!
Since now I have a layer of Z5 and Z2, will it be OK to just add more layers of Z5 and Z2 with ZFX on top of these original layers?
Oh and what on earth is Master Blaster? Pardon my ignorance....
Also, what rims do you have on? I love them - they go so well with the metal trim of the car!
Thanks for everything again!

No problem ... us Clevelanders have to stick together ... if for no other reason to simultaneously promote our hatred for all things LeQuiter ... and to wish Z success in his quest.
The more layers the better the finished product looks. Once a year - usually around Memorial Day - I'll do the Dawn/Clay/application ritual, and then apply either the 5 or 2 as seems necessary throughout the rest of spring/summer/fall. Using the 6 after each wash also helps promote the reflective finish. Since it's easy to apply/buff, you're not looking at a whole lot of effort to maintain the finish you want.
MRR GT1's. 19x8.5, Zaino'd, currently wrapped with OEM HPT's.
