Brought home a '12 TL Advance Graphite Luster

After much deliberation I finally decided to go back to Acura and trade in my '10 Mustang GT. I purchased the Mustang on a whim and got rid of my 06 WDP TL. I never really missed the Acura because the Mustang was a fun car to tear around town in, plus I really had the desire to have a manual again. One of the good things about the Ford was the overly abundant aftermarket. That car was like the Honda Civics of domestics as far as customization goes. Anyway that being said, I am back in an Acura TL and am truly amazed how comfortable and quiet this car is. I don't know if they have improved that much in the past few years or if it is just the new car sensation but this thing is so smooth and easy to drive (probably also a combination of running a muffler-delete resonator on a daily basis in the GT.) I didn't really do much to my 06 TL other than tint the windows and change a few bulbs for LEDs/CCLs. I doubt I do too much to this car either. Just something about cutting into a $40k+ car that makes me cringe I guess. I would like to do something about the fog lights and maybe the day-time running lights. Window tint is scheduled for this Saturday and I am up in the air about how dark I want to go. I definitely want it darker than the legal 32% but don't know if I want to get the front window done 50% to help or not... Well, without further adieu here are some photos.

I have the same car but with just the tech package. I already did most of the lights except for the fogs. I bought chrome bulbs from Stealth Auto to change out those ugly yellow ones. I did it to the front ones above the fogs and to the tails. It makes a huge difference. The HID fogs have been ordered and i will post install pics when i get them.

About the tints. I got 35 for the front and i got 20 for the back. Let me tell you, go for 20 all around. The car has a way of letting in a lot of sun so they look very uneven.

Don'f floor it just yet, give it at least 500 miles before you do that. I know that the car is fast and fun to drive but make sure you keep it that way.

Awesome pics!

Congrats and welcome back! An alternative to HID fogs are HOEN Endurance bulbs (yellow) which is the route I took.

See you purchased from Nalley Acura... how was the negotiation process? I bought mine from Son's, but they had to go get the car from Nalley as I found Nalley to be a pain to deal with... they kept telling me I had pay a higher price for their cars since they had a "lifetime engine warranty" on the cars they sold....

Congrats on your car!! Nice color and photography!

Thanks everyone! It is nice to be back! I didn't have any problems with Nalley really but I did my homework before I ever set foot inside the dealership. I actually went to Nalley Infiniti first with the intention of buying a 2011 G37 6-speed coupe but just couldn't get over the small interior. That and it just didn't feel like a car that cost $45k from behind the wheel. Anyway, I told Nalley what I wanted to pay and what I had been offered for my trade. At first they tried to quote me much higher on the car but I told them, your dealer cost is $37,509 and I'll give you $500 over that (which I thought was fair.) I ended up getting the "protection package" which added mud flaps and the rear trunk mat added which added a couple hundred but still right at what I wanted. All-in-all I have always had a great experience with Nalley.

First mod comes tomorrow with window tint. Pretty sure I am going 20% (or darker) all the way around.

Thanks again for the welcome back. I never really posted much in the past but always lurk around looking for useful ideas to steal and make my own

As far as the fog lights go.... I haven't decided on what I want to do but will probably not go any more yellow than the stock halogen bulbs already are. I might go the H11 LED route as I can see maybe a 1% change in road illumination when the factory lamps are on so the loss in light output from halogen to LED isn't really relevant to me. I don't even turn my fogs on right now because I don't like the difference in bulb color. I came very close to ordering the H11 LEDs from V-LEDs and some Stealth-Bulbs for the front and rear turn signals but then decided I was going to wait and make sure I didn't waste my money on $50 bulbs I didn't want. I wish they had put LEDs in the license plate because I definitely think it makes the rear of the car look classier at night. I went through the hassle of putting in some cold cathode tubes in my 06 TL that looked great in my opinion but I don't want to do that to this car. Hopefully the 168 smt-LED will not burn out like they seemed to in my 06.

Let me extend my congrats on your new purchase!! It looks sharp and I think you will not regret getting back into the TL I left my TSX about a month ago and let me tell you, this car is amazing. For me, I can't get over the comfortable interior....so happy riding and don't mod it too much...I know most will disagree but an overdone TL can look goofy. This car is about elegance and refinement and the more you mod it, in my eyes, the more it tries too hard....It reminds me of the kids walking around with 17 piercings, spiked belts, baseball caps sideways and pants hanging off...all this to get the attention *LMAO* No offense to modders, I just like more subtle but hey, I am now 40 so who am I kidding

I tend to agree on the modding. While it can be done tastefully there are very few that I find myself wishing were parked in my garage. I went to a local Acurazine meet back when I had the 06 and everyone always asked what my plans were for the car. I was pretty happy with it the way it was and feel mostly the same about this one. I like the wheels that came on it and the stereo doesn't need much (if anything) as it ranks as one of the best audiophile car stereos already.

I tinted the windows which I do on all my cars (except for my classic car.) and will probably do something about my fog lights. Other than that I am very happy with this car just the way it came... Everyone has their own opinions and preferences though.

Haven't taken a picture of the car since those initial ones when I purchased it. Once the rain stops and I can clean it again, I'll take a couple.

Sounds good, I'm thinking about getting 32% ceramic tint on mine.
