birdy*feet's Bird-Mobile -- 2012 CBP

Just had the other love of my life detailed and thought I'd snap a quick pics as the lighting is beautiful this time of day/season here. The more I look at this car, the more I know it desperately needs to be lowered. Anyone in the Phoenix, AZ area who knows of a great shop, please let me know.

Also, sorry about the mediocre pic quality. I took these with my iPhone 4S...

Thanks for letting me share!

If not tein coils then H&R's would be the best choice. Mine is H&R 1" drop F&B. Very good ride quality.

suros, it really does have an amazing camera for being a cell phone!

Are the H&R springs decent taking into consideration this is my daily driver? suros and karkraze, I love the stance on both of your cars. Makes me wish I had a white TL, too.

How does the H&R's affect the stock shocks?

Ive had mine for over a year now. Shocks are still good. They make the ride just a tad stiffer but nothing outrageous. The ride quality is much like OEM with less body roll, better stance and better handling. It really does make the ride more enjoyable and fun. Its not bouncy at all. I think its just perfect if you want a normal ride with a better handling and not worrying about scraping everything.

Mine is a daily driver as well, and I wouldn't go any lower than 1". H&Rs 1" F&B for you would be perfect. Guaranteed

Do you remember if the part of the H&R springs you used are P/N 50107?

Thank you! Go for the grill, dude - seriously. You will not regret it. It really keeps the aggressive integrity of the front end while toning it down just enough.

And actually, it's funny you mention the roof spoiler; just ordered one off eBay last week. I've literally been stalking my mailbox for it, ha.

Done and done. I'm gonna take your word for it and post pics when it's done. If only I could find a shop in AZ that I trust... Hopefully someone can chime in here. I just don't have the room to do it myself, as my better half thinks our garage is a wood working shop.

Haha, for sure - thank you so much for the kind words. I've always been a fan of black on black, but I think it's something I picked up from my dad, as he's was always a fan growing up.

Your diamond cut wheels is a perfect match for CBP. Don't know why Acura didn't make this their standard wheels. Have you consider painting the roof moulding? I painted mine and it blends perfectly well from the back.

I know, I could not agree more -- the diamond cuts look amazing on CBP, and actually my local dealership swaps them for the typical rims on the TLs in their showroom quite often.

I did consider painting the roof molding and would be really interested to see yours if you would be kind enough to share pics. I was a little nervous about painting any moldings because I don't want the TL to look totally murdered out... Just stealth.

Nah, dealerships would charge me an arm and leg. All the painting cost be zero! I've a friend that works in a body shop.

Shoot. Sounds like I need to make new friends.

My dealership actually only charged me $125 for the front and back pieces on mine.... Wonder what they might charge for the roof molding. Hmm.

$125.00 for front and back, that's a steal deal. Come to my neck of the woods and they charge minimum $250.00 with paint and labor. If you decide on painting the roof molding, be prepare to break some clips, luckily mine was taken intack.

^^ Yeah, my dealership actually takes pretty good care of me; I've never had the feeling I'm being price gouged, unlike other dealerships I've had the misfortune of working with in the past.

Anyhow, thanks again for the recommendation and for the heads up re: chips... I have a clear film over my painted grill and just noticed that I have a rock chip already. Sigh.

Hmmph. Doesn't look like H&R's an option for me. I don't have the AWD.

Ha! Agreed - needs to be done.

Can I ask, and I'm sorry... I feel like I've bombarded you with questions... How bad has the premature wear on your tires been? The guy I just talked to said to expect to replace my tires every 1.5 years instead of 3.

Well is not exactly true, the wearing of your tires will last you depending on some factors, first you will need to rotate your tires every 5k miles or oil changes, second make sure your alignment is correct and if you decide on getting coils, as long you don't plan on dropping the car very low you will be fine. For example I'm planning on lower the TL by 1 inch all around with wheel spacers for front and rear to give more stable and aggressive look. I really hate the 4x4. Most of the member here have their vehicle very low, they end up installing rear camber kit.

In regards to the wearing question, I'm in the need to replace 2 tires on my RL but it was because I was too lazy to rotate my tires and now I'm paying the price, other than that my tires still have about 70% thread left. Hope I answer your question.

H&R does make them for FWD. I'm looking into it myself. Installed price for me at a local shop is $360.

Cheapest place near me $213.85. I'm sure they'll ship but not sure it's worth it for you.

Everyone who answered my numerous questions about lowering my car, thank you. I think I've finally made a decision, months later, but I want to make sure this is the way to go for me:

Also, is this it? This is all I need? And anyone have any issues at ALL with these springs?? TIA.
