Acura TL in China with new lip spoiler

Found this on the Acura connected website.

The new TL in China is still pre-MMC 4th gen TL, but it sports clear corners and this one wallpaper shows a new lip-spoiler that I can't seem to locate on the Acura China website.

I hope the clear corner lens fits our US 4Gs. It would be great to be able to swap it out.

Another pic. Looks like the clears should fit... but it wouldn't be hard to clear out the 09-10 TL headlights. I personally think the 09-10 headlight/taillights look better and are more modifiable. The 2011-2012 TL taillights no longer have clear glass.

I agree with potmilkz......it seems overdone and too pronounced. Thats just my opinion of course.

I like that a hell of a lot better than the Aspec Aero Kit.

Looks good but doesn't really fit in with the rest of the body. Specially with the side skirts.

I think it gives the 4G a little more flair, more pizazz. The damn Aspec Kit looks like an afterthought that was stuck on the side of the car. There's no front spoiler to it, just a "side" piece. I know this doesn't have a front spoiler either, but it sure looks like some thought went into this, not just a last minute..."oh here, let's just stick this on the front side of the car and people will buy it...."

^^Agreed.
The 4G seemed to completely abandon all of the "classic" Acura styling queues. This is spot on to me!

I don't like the front diffuser as it gives the TL too much of a boy racer look. I believe an AZ member with a black 4G and Type-S badge on the back stated he had a way and was going to get the Chinese spoiler kit this summer?

If there's a 4G owner with a Type S badge, you need to set him straight....

A few members mentioned it was tacky. I didn't want to bash the guy because everyone is entitled to their opinion/preference (regardless of how bad their taste is) and on AZ there's always that one guy saying, "it's your car do whatever you like".

I think its ricey in a geeky HONDA way. Perhaps some may consider it negligible, but I would imagine that it is more functional than the A-spec lip-spoiler. Honestly, I really like the family resemblance!

I find the S2000 with that spoiler more acceptable, I'd even admit to liking it. On the TL it's trying to be something it's not and that's why I feel it's out of place.

It doesn't seem to flow very well, guess you would have to see it up close.

The Acura vehicles in China are priced outrageous high.

So when the Chinese people buy luxury vehicles, they will go for BMW and MB, which are recognized luxury brands.

I thought about bumping this too, glad I wasn't alone.

I'd like to know as well if anyone knows of a way to get these pieces, assuming compatibility, (I personally like the front bumper spoiler)

or

even better, has anyone already purchased and installed?

I think you'd have to 1) speak/read Chinese and 2) have someone in China who can facilitate the shipping for you. I don't see Acura.ca shipping this to the states.

They don't and hard to get replacement parts unless you really know someone there. They only have a limited replacement parts as people in China don't buy Acura that much. In order to get replacement parts or accessories, they need the VIN number of your vehicle and match it up at there database in order to give them out. They don't just give it out to anyone unless you know someone inside at Acura China can by pass the VIN locator. I've asked my friend who works at Honda headquarter here in Torrance and BEGGED him to get me some parts and he said he can't since Acura China and Honda USA are total different. Unless someone in China have a few totaled TLs then that is a different story. For people with high income or corrupted official, they rather spend it on Porsche SUVs, Mercedes, Bentley and Maserati. Maserati in China is the in car now. I see about 10-15 Maseratis in China while I was there in one day and 90% carries government or military plates.

Have fun!

No surprise.

When the TL is listed with a starting MSRP of 498,000 RMB ($80K USD), and the MDX a starting MSRP of 810,000 RMB ($130K USD), who is there to buy them.

The Chinese rather spend the money on known (established) luxury/exotic auto brands.

I love my TL but I don't think I love it 80k worth. At that price point there are so many options or are cars in China generally more expensive? The price of an MDX is absurd if that's true and doesn't reflect the price difference between the two state side.

time to bring those JDM headlights to the US. I'd prefer clear corner than amber reflectors.
