vosson's VIP?
honestly, the way its sitting right now, it looks more sporty than luxury.
When I think of VIP, i think of some bad ass full faced wheel, not a 5 spoke design. Hopefully, you'll move more towards the luxury VIP wheel designs instead of the vossons

Always interesting when people post their car on the internet but don't want to hear that someone may not like it.
Anyway it looks nice, but I agree with him^ that it doesn't really say VIP. It looks sporty, but there is more to the VIP look than just being slammed. You have a nice platform to start with though.

Same way some people dont understand spending money on wheels worth half as much as their stockies or exhaust mods that give zero performance but add lots of sound. To each their own.
The vip crowd is mimicking the look seen in Rolls-Royce, Maybach, etc etc with anything luxury be it puddle lights to trays for passengers. Its a convenience not seen in most cars you see on the road.
I get a lot of enthusiasts here dont like it or find it tacky. Butbyoud be surprised at the responses by average people who just see it as more luxurious because they can sit more comfortably.
The tables do create a safety hazard incase the air bags deploy but depending on how they are attached and whats on them they shouldnt be a huge issue. Most attach under the airbag door and how they attach will either make it a hazard or no worse that carrying something like a notebook in your lap.

You will see the major transformation that has happened with my build I'm just showing everyone how I used to rock Vessel's like everyone else and you and Potz and a few other really inspired me to get real wheels and really transform the look of my build.

Well as some of you have said the first pic didn't really demonstrate the look I'm currently building towards here's a pic from more recent to show the slight transformation of my wheels, fitment, camber, and splitters as I will be adding a kit from japan pretty soon.

Thanks bro for posting some pics so others on here can see the transformation I have made on my car and trying to steer clear of just a another typical 4th gen on Vossen's. And like he said if you want to see all my pics I have them constantly on IG.

Here's the flaw in that, not you're explanation but in the reasoning behind creating a VIP interior on a vehicle like a TL. I don't know anyone who owns a Rolls-Royce or Maybach but both of those vehicles are designed be chauffeured in and so the owner of the vehicle gets to enjoy the lavish interior and amenities. On a TL the rear isn't big enough for the owner to reply like a smart ass and say they sit back there occsionally because all that nonsense makes it very snug back there.
To me it makes more sense to add luxury items. We can still enjoy it without being the one in the passenger seat. It's the same thing as people buying a front lip or rear visor for their TL. It's not "use". It's just there. It makes you happy. Frankly I dont understand why that needs a explanation. Half the shit we do to our cars have no purpose other than we like it. Whats really going on is you're simply questioning something you dont enjoy. But to actually think that is flawed Id say is ignorant.
It's like my girl friend whos hobby is dancing. She doesnt get spending money on cars. My only response is you spend money on dance class/outfits. It's a hobby. It makes you happy. Same shit just on a smaller scale. It's not flawed if it makes us happy. Just like coloring in the Acura on the TL bumper. It's not flawed cause it makes you happy.

With VIP styled cars, excessive is the key term here. It's all a façade. All show, no go and I have no problem with that. They look good in their own right. OP should post more pics though.

And all the other tuners are building race cars to drive in traffic. What we do wont always make sense to everyone.

I'd say the 4G is actually worthy of going VIP. It's a big sedan with plenty of interior room- the #1 thing a VIP car should have. What to all the Bentleys and Rolls and Maybachs have in common? Big cars with plenty of room.
An ILX on the other hand?

Is it really that big inside (rhetorical)? Bentlys, RR, Maybachs are truly huge cars. Not only are they very long, they're also wide. And I understand why, or at least think I understand why Lincoln Towncars aren't the poor mans choice for VIP spec, but I also believe anything smaller than an S class, 7 series, LS, M long wheel, A8, etc isn't large enough. Then again not everyone can afford those, 4G's or even smaller vehicles , are there VIP spec Smarts and Fiats?

Your average mans sedan, made to look gangster. No one is going around stretching frames. But you can't deny it makes more sense to do it on a car of this size than it does on a civic.

I mean I could say even a TL is less meant for the VIP world than an RL. Even then, if you want to be a true VIP nut you need to go with a RWD largebody/flagship JDM platform. There was a time not even German cars were considered in the VIP family.
Now a days you can have anything "VIP inspired" and not even people in the VIP crowd hate on that. The hardcore OG guys might. But thats the same for building race cars. Anyone that actually tracks their TL would call 99% of this forum a joke for their mods. As another user said it's subjective.
But I wont argue the ILX comment. It's a small as car and on the bottom of the list for VIP platforms. Id just rather own a "luxurious car" with "luxury" mods over race car mods. Hell you'd make fun of the ILX regardless. If I threw Vossens on it and tried to race it out you could claim its not race car. At least Im doing what I like and not begging for Vossen specs to build my Acura like a cookie cutter Azine ride.

I mod a car to be more enjoyable to drive. Because that's it's intended purpose, for me.
I think the VIP stuff is cool...just not the avenue I choose to go down since I like to drive. The pillows and curtains and stuff tend to make me kinda laugh, but hey, it's probably great to nap in!
Anyway OP, car looking great, man...glad you dumped those Vossens...they have their place in the world but the 5 spokes have been done a lot...love the ones you eventually settled on, they look great on your car. Your car reminds me of a 4G version of Decafe's ride with a lot less body work, obvi.

The VIP thing confuses me a bit, so are you trying to make the car actually comfortable for passengers or is it just "a look". The reason I ask is because I always see VIP styled cars with huge wheels, stretched tires and slammed which gives me the impression they're probably horribly uncomfortable to drive in

Not all VIP builds are going to use crazy stretched tires or "huge" wheels. These people are the individuals simply attempting to push the limits with a more aggressive set up than the next guy. But even those into VIP understand what you find ugly is indeed very aggressive even for VIP/stance standards.
The VIP look wasnt originally to be comfortable. The VIP look was made popular by street racers that werent modding the race but just modding to mod. There was a huge crack down overseas at one point for anything that even looked remotely like a race car. These groups started modding large body sedans in an attempt to mimic the Yakuza/mafia cars. These were just seen as widely impressive as well they drew the opposite kind of attention their race cars were drawing.
You can imagine, things typically start off pretty conservative with any look or style. As it gets popular more and more people join who try to do the next big thing. Sooner or later VIP was about having the biggest body, the lowest to the ground, and the flashiest it can be. That's not to see all now a days VIP builds take that route. But point being made, not all VIP builds are going to have huge wheels, stretched tires, or lots of camber.
In fact some of my favorite builds take a more conservative approach to VIP.
