2010 TL AWD 6mt Progression thread

I got my TL just over a year ago and absolutely love it.
Its the first car i've owned so I really don't know a whole lot and I am trying to learn as I go.

Modifications so far consist of tint and painted grill, rear trim, and wheels.

Planning on getting the HFPC's, RV6 J pipe, and tinting the tails red.

Thanks for the comment! I didn't want to color match the grill because i really like the aggressive look so this is what i came up with. Its actually a really dark grey but it basically looks like satin black from a distance.

Lower that baby!
Not sure if im going to lower it, if i do it wont be any time soon

Thanks! I totally agree with you. I was sad to see the sharp lines of the 09 to 11 model toned down in the 12. Its really a car you have to see in person to appreciate. I wasnt really a huge fan of the grill before i bought the car but once i saw it in person it just kept growing on me and now i absolutely love it.

Thanks! Hopefully within the next couple months i can get the OEM body kit on and the tails tinted

nice grille
Thanks!

haha that would be my brother's new S5. They both get a lot of looks, especially here in southeastern Alabama. But you just cant beat the styling of the acura, plus the extra leg room is nice too.

Congrats on your car!! It looks pretty sharp and I agree with you that the 2012 is softer looking than the 2011....that being said, I still prefer the front of the 2012 but LOVE the rear of the 2011. I will agree with you, regardless of the 2011 or the 2012, this car needs to be seen in person to be appreciated and the more you see it, and drive it, the more you love it!! I think this car is a homerun.....I'll be curious what Acura will have in store for the next generation

Thanks! Absolutely agree with you weather, the car is simply phenomenal both the 11 and 12 models. The 3g is a great car but acura definately raised the bar in the sports sedan world when they made this car. Every now and then i search google to see if any concept renderings have come out for the 5g because im so excited to see where acura is going to go with it. Hopefully they out do themselves again.

^ Thanks! Ya im pretty proud of it. The first 3 years of college with no car kind of sucked but it was well worth the wait. Plus i got a really good deal on it too.

^ Ya i have to admit I like driving the S5 more plus it just got awe catback exhaust and non resonated downpipes so it sounds amazing. Its a little bit out of my price range at the moment though haha

My pops has an S6 and you definitely sacrifice leg room in the S5. The backseats are nearly useless if you're 6'. Nice lineup man

^ Thanks! Agreed legroom in the backseat of the S5 is pretty tight. Especially compared to the spacious 4g. Performance wise the tl keeps up pretty well with the s5 from 0 to 60 but after that the audi walks away easily.

Thanks! haha i did the exact same thing! I watched some videos of people tinting tail lights and i convinced myself i could smoke them but the results werent good. It looked good for a couple of days and then started peeling. This time I let a professional do it, I like the red much better anyway. blacked out tail lights by JNC look awesome good choice!

I am going to be selling my car and upgrading to an audi s4. I will be selling my HFPC ceramic coated and the longtube j pipe in the near future. I had the same paint issue as some other members and acura did an absolute terrible job on the car. Their customer service was horrific and i want absolutely nothing to do with them anymore. I couldn't be more disgusted with how they handled this issue.

Congrats on the a6 i think it is the best looking car audi has designed to date. Im plan on picking up a 2010 with low mileage. I'm really impressed with the supercharged 3.0 engine. You just cant beat audi. Plus tuners and aftermarket parts are abundant. Im sure AWE will come out with a catback exhaust for the a6, it sounds incredible on the S4. Good luck with your new car.

it was a hard decision... A6 is almost as fast as the S4 surprisingly enough... The S4 just didnt have the room i was looking for on the inside.. plus it screamed "sport" while I was trying to get more towards luxury

What color did you get? I drove the S4, and man its a fun car... My friend has an S5 coupe (V8) and my mother has an S5 Cabrio (3.0T)

ABT already makes an ECU, tune & pulley for the C7 A6.... $4000 gets you to 420hp... $7000 gets you to about 500hp.

I plan on this being the first car, that I dont molest with aftermarket parts
