a little.
Ideally, you would want to add a resonator down the line to help quiet it.

the xlr8 cat back comes with 2 resonators, it sounds great, but if it doesn't tone down a bit, i might have to throw the 3rd cat back on.

No doubt it's loud - you don't have any cats!

My catback was pretty loud when i first got it - have a cpl hundred miles it quieted down quite a bit. I would recommend not doing anything to the exhaust for at least 200 miles to let things break in. Then if it's still too loud - you can make adjustments from there.

yeah, i figured it would be loud because i blew out the baffles on the stock exhaust the first day i had the cat deletes in, but i think the cat back got louder lol, i heard a few people sayin that it would quiet down after a few hundred miles, so i guess ill wait...and see what happens...

I got the same setup but with ATLP exhaust and its crazy loud lol. When you start your car, do you hear any rasp? and then like a few seconds later it goes away.

No, it's real deep on cold start , then smoothes out, just really deep tone on a cruise. The occasional back fire but no raspy exhaust. It's not an annoying loud but it's a "hit the clutch when the cops come" loud lol

3rdGenHybrid, any chance's of you posting a video like you did when you installed the j pipe,it would be nice if you put both in this thread for comparison.

I'm running the xlr8 catback, Jpipe, and hfc and for my preference, it's too loud and annoying driving around town. So much that I've considered perhaps larger resonators or anything that might quiet down the exhaust at low rpms. I just don't like the idea of butchering the xlr8 unit. I want hfpcd's but if they will increase noise even more then I may just pass. Oh and I've a few thousand miles on the exhaust setup at this point.

Imagine no cats, I mean the performance gains are ridiculous, but the noise is loud, I just took a video clip of the cabin noise, I'll make another outside clip tomorrow after work.

Reinstalling the factory third cat won't alter the exhaust note much. Reinstalling the primary cats will make a difference though.

Starting to tone down a bit, as long as I keep light throttle, and don't try to accelerate it 6th gear, it's not too bad.... Been super busy at work but hopefully tomorrow after I get out I'll post a good video

Big thanks to Josh down at Excelerate for helping me stuff the cat back into my tl, and staying after hours while I rush through traffic to pick it up, regardless of cats or no cats, the xlr8 cat back was worth the power gains!!!

A bit too loud for me. I can't help but think the droning is tiring.
