Looks and sounds good. I love the welds. I'm a big fan of titanium exhaust systems. I hope Megan goes the titanium route. That would be awesome. Could use a little weight savings for the 4G.

Sounds great, while I miss having that rumble, I'm so glad my current TL is catback-less.

Thanks, it's fun but I'm still trying to refine the sound at higher RPMs.

I'm really hoping for the Titanium as well, it will also run probably less than $1400 for the system if chosen that route, save weight, and the tone will be different.

Thanks, it rumbles and hits it high but I get what your saying. Once I get my MR system production model and wheels, it'll be a comfortable daily drive/cruiser. How are you liking the '12 body style compared to your previous?

Again this is not the complete final MR product. Still waiting for the the complete prototype to come in before I get some better footage.

^^^ lobby for it man! that ain't too bad for titanium exhaust. I spent 1300 on a full titanium exhaust system when I had my ZX-10R and that was on sale...for a bike! Just love its weight savings, power gains and the cool colors it produces after a few heat cycles.

I'm only assuming but the Titanium exhausts for the other cars on the their website are not extremely high for the mid ranged models, however the BMW E92 Titanium exhaust is $2499. I think they are being resonable with those systems, I'd be willing to pay close to $1800 for a system made for the TL.

Let's not rush ahead, no matter how excited we are. However, once I get the Megan Racing exhaust, I will make proper professional sound flims/clips with and without the Test Pipe. (Resonated/Non-resonated) Then we can go ahead and push for a prototype Titanium system if the regular system becomes a demand.

I went in for the test fitting Feb. 11th, 2013. I was told it would take 4-6 weeks for the complete first production system to come in. As of now I am still waiting, but Danny over at Megan Racing kindly gave me a call and mention they are transitioning between new methods of production. I do not know what these entail except for better quality and return times.

Here's a quick clip I'm made last night on a fwy ramp. I'm just having fun with these cut outs before the new system is in.

wow that sounds LOUD!

are cutouts basically dumping the exhaust PRE mufflers? so you have no mufflers?

does the car feel faster?

It's pretty mean, the video only captures the rawness of it. In person you can really feel the rapture of the deep, aggressive rumble to the higher screams of the RPM. I'm still waiting for someone to drive my car so I can sit behind a chaser and hear it.

Well there are different types of cut outs, but essentially you can focus where you want the gases to exit. I have cut outs before the resonator and after the resonator along with two switches. That way I can play with different sound levels depending on my mood. The cut outs before the resonator have the gases exit out right after the test pipe and the cut outs after the resonator has a more refined sound. If both cut outs are closed the car is extremely quiet, vice versa. (These are all electric btw, there are manual cut outs and open cut outs.)

I would say it feels faster in terms of the TQ you gain with the flow. The throttle feels slightly heavier and the car keeps on pulling in the higher RPMs. Overall pretty quick over stock, the stock exhaust system is a huge bottle neck. I can't wait to see what a J-Pipe and Intake will do...btw Megan Racing is also working on a J-pipe for our cars.

Nice looking product, sounds O.K. too.

Folks, keep in mind you drive an Acura TL, not a Genesis, Scion, or EVO.

Think about your over-all reason for purchasing the car in the first place. Do you want it to sound like a Civic Boy-Racer?

No one but you will know that you spent $1,000 on your exhaust. But everyone will think you riced it.

Again this is just for fun, I will have the Megan Racing Catback very soon. There will be no more cut outs so it will differ than this set up.

To address what Marco said, The TL is definitely a luxury sport sedan and a wonderful daily driver, I would not do the cut outs again. All you need are wheels and a drop to complete the look.

Fitment is fantastic, product looks wonderful in person. It's clean, welds are on point, and it sounds great. Videos will be posted shortly. Yes, I had a donut for breakfast and touched the exhaust.

I completely agree. This is the first unit to come back, but I will be notified when it goes on sale. I'm sure there will be a SH-AWD version as well just like there were for the coilovers. I think it suits the car very well styling wise.

Thanks for the info! Do you have a shot of directly from behind? How big are those tips?

Looks good, my only concern are the relatively tiny mufflers and lack of resonators. I can imagine that system being VERY loud. I also predict that this system will be more expensive for the AWD because the stock AWD is nearly a true dual.

Danyoung where's the Telsa?!

I would assume so, the 4th gen is a few years old now and I see more and more people buy CPO's and used. Cheap(er) mods for a fairly affordable car will attract any crowd.

I'm working on a sound clip, I ended not trading the TL, so my wife and I drive this in between the other daily drivers. No pricing yet, I'll ask and get back to you folks on that.

Subjective to personal taste, the exhaust looks fantastic and I'm sure it'll be priced accordingly. More metal, more money can't expect every company to make 4'' inch tips to fill out the rear end.

Danyoung where's the Telsa?!
The Tesla is now my new DD, I'll get some pictures up. However, I did not get a picture of the MR resonator next to the other pieces. When I started it up it wasn't as loud as I expected, it had a "heightened" tone over stock. This system is still under development and I'll get some clips up and let it speak for itself.

My current setup from the stock J-pipe back is:
>Megan Racing Test Pipe
>>Megan Racing Exhaust System
>>>Removed Center Resonator
>>>>Piped to the Megan Racing Mufflers

I will be testing between resonated and non-resonated systems for a few weeks.

Short video, quite short. The camera man stopped recording too early, I'll have to get another clip up soon. Just uploaded on my phone so I could not embed, feel free to do so. I hope the quality is decent, haven't had a chance to get to a computer yet.

Doesn't sound too loud which I like. I would assume the SH-AWD version would sound a little louder than this with the bigger motor and different exhaust configuration. My main concern is: how is the sound in the cabin such as on the highway? Can you post a video or sound clip of that?

BTW, I appreciate you posting all this.

I don't mind posting at all. NP! It's hard to capture the sound in cabin...but all I can say is it sounds stock. There is no drone.

To be completely honest I have two opinions about the 4G and exhausts. One being the car is a mid level sport luxury sedan and should sound like one. Sporty...but not loud.

Two, the 4G is becoming old, it's fairly affordable for individuals in their early to mid 20's. Most people that buy these vehicles used with high miles are okay with modding the car. With that being said you can't go wrong having something loud and aesthetically pleasing.

Going to get some more clips up tonight...been extremely busy at the studio. I think they are 3.5 inch tips, I tried pushing for 4 inches...but no reply yet. I'll try to get a clip in cabin, while driving with windows up, I don't think it should matter with windows down. I will also get some revs (2K, 3.5K, 5K, Redline) along with a take off and drive by. After some solid time with the system, I've come to like it very much. It's sporty, light burbles, occasional pops with zero drone while remaining that deep note. I'm not going to compare it to any other TL system but it suites the car perfectly in my opinion. I can say, I wish it came from the factory like this...

A good example is the G37, you all know and like that stock sound. (subjectively speaking). But to better put this into perspective, if you wanted a car with some grunt, attitude, and a higher tone go something else. At least I would, but if you want something that enhances the overall experience of the vehicle without attracting too much attention, this is what I would recommend. Ultimately, owning and driving the car for 10 months, putting close to 30,000 miles, I'd go with something that gives the car a sportier tone, without absolute zero drone. I just like the comfortable ride with silence...and when I punch it, I get what I want. I can truly say "this is how it should of came from factory."

Sorry guys been lagging it on the videos, I shot some and the in cabin sound for the TL is extremely close to being exact on the playback. However, the drive bys and take offs were distorted and tampered by city elements. Need to redo them...

More information will be released when I finish testing the system.
