Takeda SRI

I've done many searches and have seen mostly it loses low end torque but my question is if I have supporting mods which include HFPC, j pipe, full cat back, XLR8 pulley will a Tune help the Takeda intake with the scaling of the MAP reading give me more power or will I still lose power? I'm aware the it will pull hot engine air in but will take tune and supporting mods help?

The Icebox is not available.

Unless you want the sound.. That's basically what you paying for. IMO if you have the FWD and the money then go for it but I would get the K&N one due to the "heat shield". Regardless of what you end up doing, you will NEED a custom to so your car can run efficiently with it. The stock system is already a cold air system. Drop in a K&N drop in filter if anything.

I already have a drop in k&n filter but now I want some sound and some low grunt so was thinking with the tune that it would take care of it.

I have the 3.7 sh awd and that's the cold air intake I was thinking about getting over the Takeda for that very reason. The heat shield

The Takeda is not a cold air intake, it’s a short ram. Like mentioned if you want the sound and don’t mind a loss in power. That’s the way to go.

In going to try the K&n cold air intake and see if that makes a difference with a tune.

of course it does.

a tune cannot account for heat. how do you tune out heat? you cant.
you can mod for heat, tho.

cooler air is denser air.

If you want the sound and have the money nothing wrong with having at it. Just make sure to get it tune. Would it be beneficial performance wise? Not really.. but maybe you will be happy with the sound and the performance you want. But remember the stock intake is the cold air intake... The Takeda and K&N are short ram intake is short ram.

Are we talking about the k&n filter or does k&n make a full cold air intake? Can you post a link if so.

K&N does not make a full cold air intake. They make a ram air for the FWD TL with a heat shield. https://www.knfilters.com/search/pro...cid=ADDCABINAI

There is a few of us that just uses the drop in filter.

Does cbryce know it only fits FWD? He has a SH-AWD. Or can it be modified to fit?

I contacted excelerate performance and they said it could fit. So with the tune will it be less performance than with the stock intake?

From what ive been reading on here it will be less or equal for rpm under 5000 or something. Since it is a short ram it will suck in hotter air because it wont be as close to cool fresh air. And as justnspace already mentioned, cold air is what you want.

So Everybody thinks stock would generate me power? I don't care about sound. I have the sound already with my HFPC and exhaust. Just wanted a little more low end power and was thinking the UR pulley and intake /tune would do it.

As I understand it the consensus is that it will not add low end power. But it seems it will add some power above 5000 rpm. Below is copy and paste from the link that cruzanTLSH-AWD posted.

Product Specifications
Estimated Horsepower Gain10.23 HP @ 5217 RPM
So you have to decide if that's worth it to you.

A tune alone with fresh oil and intake drop in filter will get it done. The UR pulley and the intake that's base on you if you feel the need. Personally for me would not be an investment I WOULD MAKE. I would say if you got all the bolt on's already just get it tuned.. and I would PNP the lower intake runners if you just want that airflow piece of mind. You should be around 260WHP at the min fully bolted on with a tune. You WILL feel the low end difference.

I already have a tune with full xlr8 cat back, jpipe deleting third cat and and HFPC installed. How much would a PNP run?
