Takeda Intake!!
Just a heads up we have become a Master Distributor for Takeda (division of AFE) and they are developing an intake for the 09+ TL. We already have a handful of them on order. As soon as we have pictures and hp/tq gains we will post them up.
I have the test car for this intake, and the initial HP gains are impressive. As soon as it is installed on my car, which should hopefully be within 2 weeks, they will allow me to post the Dyno.
That sounds pretty good, my guy is charging me $300 but I;m afraid he already fabricated it..wonder if it would be unethical to say no. he's the same person that's going to give me a tranny swap with an 07 tl-s...might have to be nice..

I dont know what to tell you, AfE said they could do it as well, but they would be sacrificing performance by using a smaller pipe. To me it is worth more performance gains by doing it the way that the development team suggests. AfE isnt as well known in the import division however, they make some pretty serious intakes in their diesel line.

Under development is a 2009 TL SH-AWD icebox.
To answer your question, Comptech Icebox design uses a pressurized intake box that draws in cold air. Also their designs prevent hydrolock. Here is the one I had installed on my CL: http://www.ct-engineering.com/store/330145cl.html
I think maybe this should be in it's own thread.

Yes... from my past experience with Comptech and the Icebox, it actually performed better than the AEM Cold Air Intake for the CL. Their website just says AWD version. Not sure about FWD... I would think it is very similar.
Just called up CT and they said the intake wouldn't be out for another 2-3 months since production takes that long. The intake is done however. The guy also said that most likely the AWD version might not be compatible with the FWD however it wouldn't take too long to tweak so that it is. I'm really interested to see if they will come out with a carbon fiber grill replacement for the TL like they did for the 2009 TSX:

My car is heading to AfE (Takeda) on Monday for the install of this intake, I will get car back Monday evening and post pics, and try to figure out how to post a video of the sound.
