Which resonators should I install ?

Hi Everyone, I've got a TL 2014 3.7 SH and I have installed both 14" stainless steel Magnaflow mufllers yesterday on stock exhaust. Great deap sound at low revs or when accelarating but at hi revs and downshifting it gets quiet. Should i replace both stock resonators or remove both of them for straith 2.5" pipes.

Can someone help me with this ? Thanks !

Welcome to the forums.

Since this is a topic/technical issue which will require replies, and not a "New Member Introduction", I moved this thread to the model specific forum.

I haven't messed around with the stock resonators. It's the more expensive route, but going with an aftermarket Jpipe from XLR8 or RV6 along with RV6's high flow pre-cats (HFPC's) will yield a good exhaust note while also freeing up around 15hp or so (the exact numbers are debatable, but it certainly helps). I have those, along with the magnaflow mufflers and the sound is on point.

Don’t mess with the stock resonators. I took mine out and still haven’t been able to get the drone under control as much as I’d like. The SH doesn’t have a mid muffler, so stick with HFPCs and a j-pipe.

I’m sort of thinking about putting a big Magnaflow res on to in place of my current setup. This car will drone like crazy without some good resonators. HFPCs, those are the high flow pre-cats that RV6 sells.

MBRP Res are the best/great option to go. With the SH-AWD you can get the longest one and get great results. IMO getting the HFPC first would be good. Working front to back in our cars is a great option.
