Performance Upgrade? Swapping an RL driveshaft into a TL
I just had an idea that I am currently trying to research. For probably a small performance gain and weight loss on the TL, would it be possible to swap the RL's carbon fiber driveshaft to the TL's? I know the RL uses carbon fiber because it is a porky car and Acura/Honda Engineers did everything in their minds to lighten it up (aluminum hood as well). I know the SH-AWD systems must be very close if not identical, but I bet to save costs on the TL, our driveshafts are not carbon fiber.
Improvements might be seen in throttle response, fuel economy and less HP loss through driveline weight.
Not that going out and purchasing one to swap would be cheap, but perhaps a wrecked RL might have one salvageable for cheap.
Going to post up pictures of driveline schematics when I surf my works must faster internet. My current internet is ridiculously slow.

I doubt it would fit, as the RL probably has a different length drive shaft due to it having the "Acceleration Device" ahead of the rear diff (only the RL has it, not the TL, MDX, ZDX, or RDX). I suppose a custom fabbed CF drive shaft would work however.

What is the difference between an "acceleration device" and a "transfer case?"
It's really funny to watch and listen. Nobody seems to know much about SH-AWD, or about about the 4G TL.
I feel like it's 1997 and we all have ITR's. We didn't know anything back then, either. :-)

The Acceleration Device is included the SH-AWD implementation for the RL/Legend and speeds up the input from the prop shaft before the diff to allow the rear wheels to be over driven more on the RL (5.7% vs 1.7% on TL or all other Acuras).
