The 3G digs it from the lower front. The 4G has an airscoop at the front of the grille. The shortram also takes advantage of it. Honda actually calls this a "Factory Cold Air Intake" on the 4G

TRADITIONALLY, aside from the V2 AEMs and their diameter changes, and the big "WHALE" intakes, the tube on a stick is pretty much the same across the board.

On the newest J37 and J35, Honda is using a MAF sensor, as opposed to relying on the MAP for air levels, so the tube on a stick now has a flange for what is generally regarded as a very finicky sensor. Wrong depth/placement of the sensor = bad juju for gains. So it's no longer "just a tube on a stick", it's a "tube on a stick with a sensor flange" - and not all are going to be created equal; though there isn't going to be MUCH variance.

I've got the 6MT and a car seat in the back - I think it has helped my daughter with strengthening her neck.

^^HAHAHA. My wife refuses to wear anything on her feet that doesn't have a heel on it at least 3 inches in length, and after letting her burn a civic clutch up in 30k - I figured I'd keep both the nice cars in slushbox form.

I've still got the original J32A2 from my 03CL, and a 6 speed gearbox, just itching to go into an EK Civic Hatch shell that I'm trying to talk my buddy into giving me....

Yes, it's actually an SRI. If it were a CAI the cone filter would be outside of the engine bay (some, maybe all, sit inside the fender I believe).

I believe Pete and psuedo can attest to this.
I don't have an intake - hasn't seemed to be worth it to me for the money - although with my other mods I've been thinking about it to see how it helps the low end. But what I think i've read here is that an SRI will make the car run lean which makes you feel like it's producing more power. (Don't quote me on that).

Prepreludesh was the one that hooked up his car to an ipad via an odbII port connector - for the life of me i can't find the thread where he shows the air temp in the engine bay dropped to about the same in a couple of places when he started moving. Here is the thread where he hooked it up.

So would you say it was a good thing to put on my car? Or was it a waste of $230?

Lining them up, I'd take the 4G on a race to 30, the 3G on a race to 60, I think they'd be neck and neck to 100, and I'd take the 3g @ 100+.

i totally disagree with everything u just said about speeds between 3g and 4g i have had 2 3G and now own a '12 shawd and the speed are completely different.take off, midway and 100+. i may not know as much as you as far a specs and everything but from pushing all 3 hard and seeing what i do to other 3g there is no way what u said is accurate...jussayin

Yeah, let's turn this into another 3g vs 4g pissing match...THAT accomplishes so much.

I own both. I drive both. I'm a professionally trained driver with more than 100 hours of track time at Mid-Ohio and Perry Park. Those are my impressions; and I speak English.

do you know the difference of a CAI and just a short ram?

its kind of hard not to notice..

here is how it should look like on the motor

apprently there are dyno charts

but its off a v6 accord..

3982 lbs / 305 bhp = 13.05 lbs weight per HP (That's the SH-AWD 2012 car)

3558 lbs / 286 bhp = 12.44 lbs weight per HP (That's the 2007 Type-S)

The AWD helps down low and is just more weight to pull up high.
This is a DIS-advantage in a straight line race.

They've got their sweet spots.

http://www.midohio.com/School/Course...ormance-Course

Worth every penny. Get about 20 good hours of instructor time on the track, in whatever you want to drive, or use their cars (Always Accords or TSXs); you'll be amazed at what you don't know about driving.

No one said we weren't happy for ya. You insisted you had something no one has and you thought " Maybe the CAI intake you guys purchased isnt as good as mine? " so pretty hard to take you seriously (aside from the fact that you're a known troll) But glad you're enjoying your car.

On another note, isn't your licenses still suspended? Or that was some fable?

For one, what do you mean by a troll? I've heard this term on here before and I don't understand.

And yes, my license is suspended, to and from work. But do you really think that's stopping me?
