Can't wait to get my hands on one.. Based on the structure/shape of the intake i can see what took so long, i'm sure they had to be pretty strict on the molds for the intake for it to come out right.
can anyone explain WHY this icebox intake makes 16 hp over stock?
since our OEM intake is considered a CAI....what exactly did CTE do that made the power gains? since others here have said the takeda SRI really made ZERO power... it can't be just a free flowing filter..there is something else going on... but WHAT?
549 seems like a lot of money for what I assume is a plastic box and filter.....
this it not a flame. is the icebox intake REALLY makes 16 whp.. that is a lot for a bolt on item... what I am curious about is how they did it...
as soon as I see a positive review i'm ordering! but i want to hear it from a member

Do you know if the cover will go back over the intake once it's installed?

Yes, 3 left.
The TAKEDA SRI makes power. People just don't want to believe it. The CT-E intake is made even better than the TAKEDA intake so it makes more power. CT-E spends a lot of time engineering their products to achieve proper gains and this case to get the proper MAF readings as well.

Ordered mine today and was told it would ship out in a couple of weeks. Josh was a pretty cool guy answering all the dumb questions that I had. New to the foreign motors so have to forget the V8 mentality. Will see how it goes.
This thing is awesome! Comptech is really a kick but company. That's insane real world numbers from a intake. I wonder if you have to remove the battery and what's involved in the install. Are their any instructions you can scan and post? Just curious.
I asked CT-E, they said you do not need to relocate the battery to accommodate the ice box.

Everyone who saw my Pallidium/ebony TL and now the CBP/umber are shocked as to how beautiful the interior is. Most weren't even aware Acura offers umber as an option. I love how well CBP cleans up but I would've like bellanova/umber more, just for ease of maintenance.
Insane gains. Looks pretty sick too. Did anyone here recieve one yet? (Are they even shipping right now?)
I can't wait for community feedback. 550+ is a biiiiit steep for me (glad I went for the Takeda) but I really wanna see how this thing steps up to CT's rep. Can't wait for the pics and sound clips.

I dont doubt you will sell the takeda and purchase ct-e.. infact once it comes out and people do have it in hand and installed.. then we will see the true hands on experience of these bad boys.
just got home from CT-E and my objective
what an amazing product. the box is well-made and seems very durable. chris explained that it took them a long time to get the mold just right to match the oem inlet curves to ensure that a CEL wouldn't be triggered. theyre doing some fine-tuning to ensure that the AWD icebox will fit the FWD models. no timeline currently on the CARB approval unfortunately.

I'm going to do all three at the time as well, which unfortunately will make it difficult to gauge the gains from the ice box.
