Does anyone have a K&N Typhoon Air intake System installed?

And if so, how do you like it? Seeing any difference in performance?

wondering if this works on 3.7L

Edit: according to K&N's site, only for the 3.5L, but so was the Takeda at first.

I installed this in to my TL. it works perfectly. and I think K&N is very reliable intake compared to others.
it worths the money, mate. you can truly feel your "girl" moving and roaring at 3rd gear anytime you switch from D to Sport mode.

You think you could record a clip of the K&N? I've been thinking about getting one. Still no word on CT-E's ice box :smh:

You can save yourself some money by purchasing it from us. We are an Official Vendor here on Acurazine too. And this only fits the 3.5 FWD TL.

If you a 3.7 AWD TL get the TAKEDA intake:

All the parts should be the same as the 09-11 TL AWD 3.7. We are verifying if our exhaust fits the 2012 within a week. The exhaust is on the way to a customer.

A sound clip of our exhaust? Or the intake?

I do far more than pop in to sling a product. You should do some research before you sling rude comments. I have been on this board for almost 7 years. I have designed countless products for the Acurazine community. I give technical advice and advise customers on how to improve and modify their vehicle. And I have paid thousands of dollars to the Acurazine owners to advertise here and "sling product" so that people like yourself can enjoy a free membership.

Let me start by saying I'm sorry if my use of the word sling offended you. I didn't mean to be rude if I came off that way

I was asking for some info on a product you carry thats all.

No worries. Did you want a sound clip of the exhaust or intake though?

Check out this thread:

https://acurazine.com/forums/4g-tl-performance-parts-modifications-295/xlr8-sound-837058/

It has our current customer's feedback as well as links to the original thread with exhaust sound clips.

I checked their website and it also lists the 3.7 engine,i also contacted K&N and was told that it will fit the 3.7 once it has a MAF sensor, here is a partial copy of their e mail, perhaps someone with more experience with this can confirm if this is true

Thank you for contacting K&N Engineering. We do have a performance intake system available for your ’10 TL Type-S 3.7L, assuming that your motor is equipped with a mass air flow (MAF) sensor. If it does, then you can install part number 69-1210TS. Below is a link to the intake system on our website.

If your motor does not have a MAF sensor, then we do not have a performance intake system available.

I think they prob just put in a diff sized piece to make it fit the 3.7L
on their site, both are same PN for 3.5 as well as 3.7. It didn't exist on their site last time i checked!

TAKEDA supplies a coupler to fit both TB sizes since the 3.5 and 3.7 have different size throttle bodies. Maybe K&N is doing the same now.

I apologize for the "noob" question...

I put a Comptech cat back exhaust, with quiet tip inserts (too much drone), on my '02 TL-S. It was fairly simple. Can the system and/or the exhaust only be done @ home without taking it to a shop?

Thank you.

Our system is a bolt on system. It does not require professional installation.

I'm looking one for my 2009 TL w/tech package? I think its 280 HP, so I need to get the first one you listed?

Will I notice a big difference?

My new CAI arrived today my wife said, its waiting at home for me.

I must say that I'm pretty excited. I'll be on vacation the next week so I might not be able to get to it until the 2nd week of January!

Can anyone tell me what to expect? A HUGE difference? Alot better sound? Speed? Acceleration?

Thanks again guys!
