Yea but you'll want to vomit every time you step into the car. What's a few grand, release the damn thing; people spend 5k on wheels, aftermarket stuff is expensive, this shouldn't be news to anyone here.

I will gladly take a supercharger once properly configured! I need another 100 HP easy, just feel a bit sluggish with the Power to Weight ratio

True, but even the claim of 80hp would make a big difference.

Do you guys ever play with the 0-60 calculator? It's far from perfect, but seems to play pretty close to the numbers posted by the car rags

http://www.060calculator.com/

Putting in the TL's base numbers with a manual it comes up with around 5.5 sec, auto pushes it to 5.9. Change the 305 hp to 385 and you drop to 4.6 and 4.9 respectively.

Taking into account other bolt-on upgrades I think getting another 100hp is attainable, but how it translates to the road is another story

Well, my point was that I'm just missing a significant sum of power (call it 80-100 crank HP) and adding a CAI, J-pipe, and exhaust just isn't the amount I'm going to like. Since this motor doesn't high rev, I'd like a power adder that is available across the RPM range like an SC. That's all. I know it won't be a 100 hp adder out of the box sort of item, but it gets me most of the way there.

with full exhaust, the super charger will out put about 50-60 horsies.
which is limited by the pulley.

then you could either change out the pulley to the HIGH BOOST pulley to get out more psi

and or change out the blower from the m62 to the m90.

these two ^ will get you closer to your 100 gain.

but again, without engine management
especially with the high boost pulley!

Well, I'll figure out how to get it close to the 100 hp mark, I'm just stating that I'd like a warrantied option that will get me most of the way there. All good fellas, thanks for the input. If the SC does come out, I'm soooo game!

Well, since I took the 30 year loan option to keep my payments under the $8 my wife approved me to spend, I've got some time to wait

What a shame to a degree, the paradox between done-right and hurry-that-shit-up is killing us. I think anyone reading all our garble in this thread wants the supercharger so there is a market for it, with some buyers even but I'm in manufacturing so I'll respect the fact that it needs done right.

At this point I'm just going to take my Troy-Built 150-mph leaf blower, convert the voltage from 115AC to 12 VDC, and plumb & wire it between my air filter and throttle body. Same thing as a supercharger, right? And, FTW, it's gotta be more like 20-30 psi so it should easily make 200-300 additional HP for the $30 it cost me. I'll post pix later of me doing 4-wheel burnouts in reverse going uphill.

Or, maybe someone's doing an LS1 Swap since it's like the cranberry of motors, seems to go in everything these days.

I don't believe this to be true, but without engine management software we will never figure it out.

With accompanying exhaust mods, throttle bodies, intake manifolds, injectors, the right pulley...etc. you would be putting out substantially more power than what you are talking about.

My reference is the CT-E M62 package for the Si which people were getting over280-310 WHP depending on mods with the 3.2" pulley, those dropping to the 3" pulley needed some sort of cooling system be it an intercooler, or meth spray setup... Those guys were getting 330isn WHP...

Stock WHP is 180ish so do the math. And thats on an inline 4 engine...

Cool Got off the phone with Nate from CT....

He mentioned that the SC will be available in December this year.
We could do a group buy when they become available.

Whatever time frame they give you, you have to add 18 months ontop of it to be accurate.

There is some funny looking junk at the radiator connection in front of the supercharger. I wouldn't exactly want that, but possibly a new rad with the hose on the passenger side would be better. I know it's only a prototype... If they ever decide to put it into production I already have plenty of cash ready for it. This car (even the 6MT) has some nice power, but it still needs more torque..

A supercharger will, in no doubt, add lots and lots of instant (meaning no turbo lag) low-end torque to the car. But it still needs to make it out into the market first.

There is a lot wrong with the pic that shows the incompleteness of the kit; namely what jumped at me was the throttle body fitment (looks like it's rotated 45 degrees and not bolted on - and the aforementioned radiator weirdness (which might be some tie in to an air/water exchanger for cooling?)

Still - I'm all over it once it goes production - so long as it is in budget.

CT-E only releases kits when they are complete. Their kits have always been properly set up and well-designed. They are very easy to install too because of they are properly designed.

Looks like they turned the radiator spout 90 degrees. This is probably to make clearance for the blower so there is no spout or hose in the way, often seen in the aftermarket. The throttle body looks to be bolted to an adapter plate which then bolts to the blower elbow. This is probably because they would rather make an adapter plate than a customized blower elbow since that is specific to the supercharger unit.

Nothing really weird about it to me, but just my observations.

Having owned one of their kits, I'll attest to the completeness and awesome fit and finish. It's going to be a welcome addition, and undoubtedly will have an almost stock like appearance and quality. It's comptech!
