Haha, good response , it's a trick question. If you're going that fast and the animal jumped out just a few yards in front of you, you wouldn't have the time to avoid it and if you panic and turn the wheel enough to avoid the animal you'd most likely flip the car.
A year or two ago in Florida some idiot flipped over a 4G on a local street, with somebody else's wife/child in the vehicle; I doubt he was going anywhere near 100mph.

I'v always trained my mind to just RUN the animal down sad but I'm not crashing for an animal.
My wife works for auto insurance and she tells me stories all the time how your obviously STILL at fault if you swerve for an animal or object in the road..
Honestly half of me is very sad the car won't go over 128.. but at the same time while im doing 128 I'm DAMN comfortable in the TL while doing it
Thinking about just buying an Integra GSR if I want to drive like an idiot and not crash a 40K$ car :X

The lessons learned were, as you stated, you are probably better off hitting the animal if there is no safe way to avoid it and you need some really good headlights to drive 85 at night safely.

But think twice before running straight into something bigger, such as a deer.
That will cause considerate damage to both the car and possibly the occupancies.

Someone once told me that if you can't avoid the animal dodge towards the hind end. If the animal does move, it will typically try to move ahead and thus might get out of your way if you are moving towards it back end. Also there is usually less mass towards the hind end and you don't have a head sticking up that might come through the windshield.
So far I've avoided having to make that decision. Saw a sad story a while back about a couple in Minn. that dodged off the road to avoid hitting a raccoon and both died when they hit a tree.

three pages on a subject which has no solution...

The only solution is an aftermarket PCM, which unfortunately doesn't exist for the 4G TL.
So, either drift off and talk about something else, or CLOSE THIS THREAD.

I hit a large buck once doing around 110, Replaced the hood, and radiator (hood pushed down and broke the radiator filler cap and broke it) and windshield from the hood putting a crack in it. Not much damage at all. Also hit one at 85 once. was worse damage than the 110 impact (but not much)
