Switched to the Note 4... Bluetooth Track Info Gone
I picked up a Samsung Note 4 yesterday and now I'm missing Track Info on screen when I use BT to stream my music. I had a Samsung GS3 and it displayed track info. Can anyone shed any light on this issue....or maybe point me in the right direction. IDK but it irritates the heck out of me to see the phone name in place of the track info on the Audio screen. Thanks for any help.
Yes I did. I've had the car for about a month. When i first purchased the car I had a Samsung GS3. It worked flawlessly. I had track info and all. Since switching to the Samsung Note 4, I no longer have track or artist info. I've tried a couple of different players with the same results. I still have the ability to change songs with the steering wheel.
For all chiming in, the 2012 and newer displays track info from BT. Our wonderful Tech Packages in the 2009-2011s aren't very Tech Savy and don't support that BT feature unfortunately and no damn software updates to fix it either!
As for the OP and the issue, I am not certain do you still have your GS3? What version of Android OS was on it? And 2nd Question what version of OS is on the Note 4? Its a long shot but I know certain versions of Android OS had some BT feature changes and this might be another one where damn Acura "Tech" supported the older feature but not the latest methods. Its a shitty situation because neither Acura nor Android nor Samsung will help they will all just blame each other for the problem. Mostly Acura who won't admit they use piss poor technology in their cars.

being an apple user since I've had the car from iphone5 to iphone 6plus, ive never been able to get track info on bluetooth. Even when i directly connect my phone through USB it didnt work that great, and spotify doesn't even work. Very disappointed in the media OS and how it functions, it would be nice to have more function from it.
I have a Nexus 5 (soon to be Nexus 6 - woohoo!)...
Bluetooth allows me to see track info, as well as change tracks using the steering wheel and main audio.
My favourite part is when I get in my car and start it, spotify automatically opens and continues playing wherever I left off on my work computer

Works on my Nexus 5, HTC One M8 and OnePlus One.
Its the AVRCP 1.3 vs 1.4 issue. The head unit needs a BT software update!
Most Androids are backward compatible but seems like the Note 4 isn't supporting backward compatibility anymore.
Happened with iOS 6 onwards as well.

I have a '14 TL TECH. Just got the Note 4 and experienced the same thing. I had a Galaxy S4 and got the full data on my screen. My sons Nexus 6 tab shows full MetaData. Bummer!

Same deal with the new Galaxy S6 as well.
Metadata and track info displayed on my HTC One M8, Nexus 5 but not on my new S6.
Wish Acura would provide an update for the Bluetooth AVRCP version.
I almost want to return this beautiful phone because of it....:-(

Good to know. I just upgraded to the Galaxy S6 Edge and I don't get any track info. I have several music players to choose from, but I use Amazon Prime the most, and that's the only one I've tried so far. I won't bother trying the others.
Can confirm, same problem with the note 4.
I previously used an s5, and pre-lolipop update, track information was there. Once the phone was upgraded to lolipop, no more track info.
I just made a thread asking a similar question, I'll go ahead and close it.
Looking forward to any advice that may help, although I expect we're SOL on this one.

Hopefully Samsung will fix it soon cause its like pulling teeth asking Acura for a software update to support the latest phones!
Definitely seems like an Android issue.
Some one try this out and report back?

So it's partly Acura and partly Samsung for sure.
In lies the problem. One item (Phone) uses newer version of AVRCP and the car is stuck on older versions :/ Sadly only the phone will be the one getting the AVRCP updates and the car like all its "tech package" features will leave us wanting...
My iOS 9 iPhone 6s is able to display track info on my 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander for MP3s as well as streaming services like Songza no problem.
The issue seems to be Acura. We need a fw update!
