Talking Reroute in Traffic using 4th Generation nav. and xm traffic

The dealer stated that if I have xm traffic nav and the tech package the system will reroute me if I can cut the traffic by 10%. Is this true. Every time that I use the nav it advises me of the weather (that is great) however it never reroutes me in traffic. Can anyone give me advise.

I'm pretty sure the way it works is a) You have entered a route and are under guidance of the nav system; and b) you are driving through an area where the XM traffic is live (they don't have it everywhere yet!). I believe, if under both those circumstances, you are destined to travel a road that is red (or maybe even yellow?) the nav will attempt/offer to route you around the traffic congestion?

it only shows incidents in my area, and not the flow, so its pretty much worthless to me. there are very few places that it actually shows the flow. check out the availability on the xm website.

Make sure you have re-routing turned on in settings.
