Rear Door Speakers

I have a 2013 TL w/Tech Package and I believe that one of the speakers in my rear door is blown. I see that according to Brew0360, the Rear Door is 3.5 inch 2 ohms 15 watts. All of the speakers that I am considering for the replacement are either 3 or 4 ohm. Will that affect sound quality and power? Please let me know what you guys think and please share if you have had any experience replacing these speakers.

The higher the ohm rating the less efficient the speaker is. Therefore, it takes more power to drive the higher ohm rated speaker. What that means is a 2 ohm speaker is louder than a 4 ohm speaker if driven by the same amp.

At normal listening volume it's not going to matter but at high volume it may over tax your amp and cause distortion or worse clipping.

Sound quality has more to do with design and personal preference not ohms.

Infinity Kappa or sister company JBL speakers are 2-ohm. Take it this way, Ill opine further on 01acls' comments. going from a 2-ohm speakers thats getting 15 watts rms would then drop to a whopping 7.5 watts if you went to a 4-ohm speaker. Does that make a little more sense? Your best bet is to go with infinity/jbl.. those will also be more efficient than even stock so to balance the sound i recommend u change both doors.
