Question about "real time traffic"
Maybe I'm just confused as I drove many cars with this feature and currently another one with it. My TL doesn't show the green/yellow/red lines along the highways. While just having the navi up but not routed or using it for routing it doesn't seem to reflect traffic issues. I had an issue last night on a major highway that was down to one lane for construction and I didn't receive a warning or anything out it. Google showed it as a 1 mile red backup. Is there a setting I'm missing?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Real time traffic is a subscription service. I don't mean this as an insult, but it is the answer I can think of, I don't think it can be turned off. I just recently subscribed and the lines show up again.

I'm still under the 3 month trial as I just got the car almost a month ago. The traffic is still through xm, right? Is there an option to enable it to actually display the info? My other vehicle allows you to turn the service on and off in the menu system.

I've had times where the traffic didn't work but Sirius music did. Try calling XM and have them "refresh" your signal. You'll need to have your radio i.d. number.

Not all highways are covered by the service? Usualy it is major highways, and even then not all of them are covered. There are several highways in NY not covered...If you live in a rural area chances are that your highways arent covered.

Real time? Bull-shit.
I cancelled all three XM subscriptions and went back to listening to AM Talk Radio. The "Real Time" traffic was sooo slow respond that it cost me to much time on the road.

Your 3 month trial may vary from dealer to dealer. XM indicated that my three month trial through Columbia Acura in Cincinnati did not include traffic and weather. If you go into the settings on the Nav unit there is an option to check XM status. It will have 3 rows, XM Radio, XM Traffic, XM Weather. It will tell you if you are subscribed or not and whether it is receiving a signal. Hopes this helps.

The Nav Traffic isn't too bad-I like having it. It is a subscription from Sirius/XM....unless you like listening to AM radio all the time.....

When my 3 free months were up the only thing I signed up for was the Nav Traffic. It comes in very handy here in So Cal (although it doesn't work in some outlying areas). They can keep that satellite radio crap though, it sounds terrible.
