Question about Navigation

This is a weird issue that I can't figure out. I had to go to a shop in Framingham MA and from experience I have learned that if you put in the city first, the whole process is faster as it narrows down how many characters you put in for street name and shows the list quicker. Well, I tried doing this on the TL and I was able to input the F and R but after the R the navi gave me a list and Framingham was no where to be found so I go back and low and behold the next letter "A" is greyed out and i couldn't select it. Since this didn't work I put in the address and street number then I input the letters to the city and guess what "Framingham" shows up. What gives? Why wouldn't it recognize "Framingham" in the first place starting with city input? Honestly I haven't had the time to read the navigation manual, heck I brought the car home on May 22nd and I am still on dealer gas so if this has been discussed I am sorry. Thanks for all the help.

It's not an issue at all but rather a glitch in the system. I tried to enter a simple address like Hollywood Way Ave and it won't come up. (Local LA'ers try it and see if it works for you?) I run into this problem all the time trying to set a destination to a desired spot. In the event when a specific address doesn't come up, try to use a cross street or some other recognizable location. It's far from perfect that's for sure.

Well, I called the dealer to see if they knew of this problem and they said No. I had the salesperson go out and put the same town then address in the Nav and vice versa and he said he tried 2 different '09 TL's and they both did the same too. He said he tried the same in a 3rd Gen TL and he had no problem either way, recognized both City and Address. Go figure.

I was not aware that you had to choose a state. I was under the impression that you could only choose sections i.e. Northeast, Southeast and so on. I checked that and I had the right sections. If I have to choose a state, that will be a pain since I am always crossing between MA and RI. Could you tell me how to choose a state if its possible? Thanks P!

Great! Thanks. Now I wonder if all the cars on the dealer lot are like that too? Got to love technology.

I'll give you a huge tip> Don't ask the dealership for any tips on the TL - they sell the car, but they don't know it. Unless you find a real person and trust that one. Chris D at Acura 101 in Calabasas,CA is one of the better ones! What up Chris, you get your WDP AWD yet?
