When playing songs via ipod, it only displays the word iPod on the info panel, whereas when I played via USB stick, it displayed Title/Artist/Album, etc etc etc. Hitting the Title button does nothing with the iPod plugged in. Any way around this? I'm kinda bummed it doesn't tell me the info, as I'm usually on my wallpaper screen and would like to see the info there. Any input? Thanks guys.

What about when you play XM radio? Does it display the XM channel and song title? If so there's something wrong in your setup or iPod tags. It definitely works for me. That's what I like about this system, if your using the Nav screen for GPS functions, the little title bar by the controls still gives you a read out of whatever audio source your listening to.

Tinker around with it more Hydro, you'll get it.

 

Oh snap, wait a minute I understand now. The iPod does not display song titles and artist info in the smaller display it will only show the amount of song in the playlist like 1 of 18 (1/18). However, it will display the standard XM information, song, artist, channel, etc...Sorry. Next time I'll go down to the car before I open my big mouth. :-)

 

Yup, small info panel just says iPod, even when I hit title. All other audio sources, including USB stick, correctly display tag info. I'll plug my iPod in and check iTunes preferences, maybe there's something in there restricting tag output or something. I REALLY hate these trial and error things with this car because every trial requires going outside, plugging the thing in, starting the car, etc. Real pain in the ass lol.

I guess I take it for granted that I have a garage underneath me, lucky me. Yesterday something frustrating happened on the way home from the gym. I couldn't get my iPhone to register on the USB data connection. It took 3 times and a full restart of the iPhone to get it to populate in the Nav system, weird. That's the second time it happened so far in the 3 month I've had her. Anyone experience this so far?

 

I have had the same thing happen once or twice bmode - once I knew my son had half-plugged the iPhone in to the cable - phone wouldn't register on the usb - plug it back in - still nothing - until - I rebooted the iPhone - then it worked fine.

 

Yeah, there's something weird going on with that data handshake. I'd point to the iPhone being the culprit as it's been rather unsteady these days. Especially when my 1GB USB stick works flawlessly.
