With Bluetooth on there is no sound from the phone GPS.. is this normal and way to fix it

Not normal (I have a i-phone 5 and have had both base and tech packaged cars).

 

So you got the phone GPS direction audible even though the Bluetooth is on ? Is this a phone setting?

 

When the phone is connected via Bluetooth and the radio is in Bluetooth audio mode, all phone sounds (incuding the phones GPS) are played through the cars speakers. If the car is not in Bluetooth audio mode (ie listening to to the cars FM radio, the phones GPS audio will not play though the speakers even if connected via Bluetooth).
