No sound from aftermarket sub

So after 6hrs of attempting to troubleshoot this last night, hoping the experts here can help me out.

I recently purchased an aftermarket amp, a LOC, and a 12" sub from a buddy (came from a TSX - all working prior to attempting to install on my car)

During the install, no matter what my friend and I tried, no sound would come out from the aftermarket sub. There is power to the LOC (indicated by the power light on it), the amp powers up (logo on the amp, and power light is on). We cut the connection to the factory sub, and plugged it into the LOC, and then the RCA connections from the LOC to the amp. We then connected the SUB to the amp using the +/- accordingly. We also ran a signal wire from the LOC, and tapped it into one of the accessory fuses in the driver-side fusebox.

After about 6 hours, we ended up disconnecting everything, and on the drive home, I noticed that the sound was EXACTLY the same as before we even attempted this whole process (no sound from sub, even before the start of the install), which leads me to believe that my factory subs haven't even been working and I haven't been paying attention.

In the event that would be the case, how would I fix this? Or is there another way to hook this all up.

Thanks in advance

I'll probably end up taking it to a shop, but would like to understand for future, what could have gone wrong.

also, is there a separate fuse for the sub? I looked through the fusebox diagrams and for the life of me could not see it.

There is not a separate fuse for the sub. Did you try and hook up a speaker to the factory wire just to make sure your getting signal from the sub wires?

Run the rear speaker wires into the LOC unit and test it. You're may want to leave it this way as it produces a full range signal.
Also can you provide amplifier make and model?

so quick update. we finally figured it out. -_-

before that we replaced the RCA cable, SUB cable, hooked it up to the rear speakers, no good still.

decided to test the actual sub itself, and it wasnt plugged in tight in the enclosure.
