Newbe Needing help with hacking the Nav screen on a TL w/o NAV

Hey guys,

I just purchased a 2004 TL without the NAV. I am looking to do a very extensive sq system as a demo for a new sole prop 12volt company I am starting - this will be my demo car. I am a member of DIYMA and will also post the install on this forum. I would like to do factory integration with the head unit but here is where I am looking for some advice. I would like to add a separate DVD player to be able to play DVD's for the kids. The plan is to put monitors in the headrests and the DVD player in the glove compartment. I would also like to be able to connect my iPod and view that as well.

Is it possible to install just the factory nav screen (no actual navigation system) to display the radio/heating & cooling controls and then hack that screen to display video from the DVD player? If yes, then what add on part will I need and will it be possible to switch back and forth (incase we want to see our heating/cooling options) while the DVD is playing?

Thanks sooooo much.
